"Hood open, stop carefully" when driving

So yesterday I was just driving around in a bit spirited manner around noon, and suddenly the warning "ding" sounds came up with this message in red: "Hood open, stop carefully".

I took an exit, stopped the car and checked, the hood was closed. Anyway I popped it open, closed it and restarted the car. The error was gone.

Software issue?

I remember sometime back the car car gave a "drivetrain malfunction" error and the dealer had to upgrade the software. This happened around noon too.

So do these errors just happen when the temperature is high? Just a guess..

Thought I'd share this since it's a weird thing to happen, did anyone else get this error?

Since our car has 2 hood lock, could it be possible that 1 wasn't locked, and with a little body flex the warning came on ?

Or, you were really carving the corners up .

There are so many sensors on these cars nowadays it wouldn't surprise if it was a wonky one that sent an error message.

Guilty of that, yes . There's a particular curved bridge with an on-ramp and immediate exit that I love driving on, and since it was noon there was no traffic so I took it quite fast

Could be a malfunction in the sensor for your hood latch.

Happened to me once. Hit a terrible pothole coming off the verrazano bridge going into Jersey, and code came on. Took it to dealer after it wouldn't go away, turns out the pothole was so bad it knocked the sensor, had to have the entire hood latch assembly replaced.

I am surprised you didn't get the warning that comes after opening the hood and closing it especially after spirited driving. In my case I had driven for at least 150miles of pure sport+ DS ON bliss. I had just stopped to take a rest and admire the car and I decided to pop the hood open to admire the N55 and the PPK stickers that come along with it. Once I closed the hood and went back to start the car I heard the ding and saw a warning that says something to the effect of don't open the hood while the engine is still hot. It went away after like 10s but I don't want to see it again, lol

Report all alarms to SA, while you still have a warranty for repairs.
