Thank god, the base 4-series front is so hideous I can't stand to see it on the road.

BMW please fix the front AND rear fascia. While you're at it, upgrade the interior materials.
I think BMW is aware of this short coming. The new MB Class has upped the game in this (premium)segment.

Wouldn't be that sure. The X3 LCI (F25) doesn't have full LED tail lights.

Like this on the current F8x M3/M4...

So to clarify, the engines are being replaced or renamed? Because the N20 is pretty new relatively speaking

Haven't been following this too closely - what's the story behind the new B58 and B48 engines?

With the new model name what can we expect? 280hp from the 330i and 350hp from the 340i am I too optimistic?

I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out slightly higher than those numbers. But I think BMW will continue to "under rate" the hp like always. Seems they like to quote Whp and crankshaft Hp these days.

i think they do realize this. i think on the 2015 models you can actually spec a leather covered dash.

Since the new M3/M4 have substantial changes to their front ends, the LCI upgrades will more than likely be limited to the rear of the car.

LCI upgrades typically only affect panels and trim that are easily replaced, such as front/rear bumpers, lenses, various interior trim pieces, switches, etc.

However to say there will be no LCI enhancements made to either the M cars or standard cars is somewhat far fetched.

However subtle, there WILL be modifications made to the rear bumper, valence, and tail lights on the standard LCI cars. Their M counterparts will then follow suit.

There is absolutely no chance that BMW will retain identical exterior design details for its largest selling model, for its entire product cycle; period. Not in today's hyper-competitive marketplace.

However subtle, however minor, there WILL be cosmetic enhancements to both the standard and M cars as a result of an LCI.
M cars NEVER have any changes to bumper design, wheel design, or side mirror design which covers all the basic details of the exterior of an LCI car. That was with the E46 and E9X chassis. The only update that the M3/M4 will have exterior wise is the tail lamp design IF it changes. As we see in these updated LCI spy shots, it is most likely the F30 will not see LED tail lights. People equate the E9X as the example but the E46 LCI sedan did not receive LED tail lights just the coupe. History may repeat itself here.

First car to get the N55 was the 535GT for MY09. The 535i got it for MY10. 335i for MY11.

Has anyone noticed the side view mirror mount is more streamlined? The piece connected to the car is smaller and more rounded.

That's what I got out of these LCI camo photos....

Personally I don't really have a problem how the F30 looks today except for the front bumper. Unlike the E9X front bumper, the F30 looks a bit incomplete (too thin towards the bottom?) so if they fix that, I think it would complete the F30 design IMO.

I believe these are F30 LCI drivetrain test mules rather than new body panel test mules.

Something, possibly the new steering or engines has required them to make a front bumper modification, so thats why we see the camo.

On the E90 when they made drive train and engine modifications we also saw test cars with the microphones fitted, but since they did not have to change the bumpers to make it fit they did not have any camo applied.

We will probably see test mules with more camo later as the new body panels are tested.

Changes in the 3 Series Sedan will be very subtle to maintain a fresh and modern look to face more strongly to its competitors Audi A4 and C-Class Benz Recall that in 2015 goes new generation of A4 and so BMW must act.

Since it is a key and the most important BMW model worldwide.

Surely new suspension calibrations, Led lights, new wheel options and some changes of exterior and interior colors and other things.

Mystery.....

2.0L or 2.5 Liter ?
3.0L or 3.5 Liter ?

330i 2.0L/260-hp/300-lb-ft ?
340i 3.0L 340-hp/380-lb-ft. ?

Speaking of exterior colors hopefully eliminate Orion Silver is horrible and it replaced by some better seen as Mineral Silver or Platinum Silver.

I must also say something very important: I think that could boost sales 3 even more, if they added another shade of gray as Callisto or newest Atlantic or other tone as Carbon black or extinct Jerez.

This technique if it works to sell more cars. As well this technique works manufacturers German cars (Audi A4, BMW 7 Series and Benz S) were the first to offer them duplicates and then copied as they always do, Asians (Toyota-Camry 2014), Chevrolet (equinox 2014) and other brands and models.
