Here's a picture of the winter setup that I just bought. 18x8 BBS SR and Bridgestone Blizzak WS80 XL (225/45-18).

During the winter I'm driving 99% of the time on dry pavement, so my thoughts are that I want tires which work best 99% of the time.
Tire compound and tread pattern probably matter more than width.

I'm running the following for a M-Sport RWD with Michelin X-Ice Xi3

Front: 235/45/18
Rear: 245/45/18

The fronts are a bit wider than OE but a studless winter tire is worlds better than a non winter tire.

Hmm... good question. I'm not really sure. I would ask the guy you're buying from for the original receipt.

Can you Please take a glance at your tires? Perhaps there is an XL symbol or RF symbol somewhere on the sidewall? Thanks!

I do not see an "XL" symbol or "RF" on the sidewall.
