Any M regrets?

Anybody out there have M regrets?
I love my 435ix, but at times I can't help but look at the F82 and drool a little. I could have been in a nicely equipped M4 for $10k more.
Now that spring is here, and the snow is gone it's easy to forget the advantages I bought it for...anyone else going thru this?

Nope. Sometimes I regret not getting another F02 or waiting for the Charger Hellcat though.

Current residuals are really high on M3/4 and dealers are offering nice discounts now that the car has been out almost 2 years. Monthly payments would be about the same as my 435. So yeah, now that the snow is gone, I'd love to get into an F8x.

when you have a 20i, you have 28i regret
when you have a 28i, you have 35i regret
when you have a 35i, you have M regret
when you have M, you have Porsche regret
when you have Porsche, you probably have Ferrari regret
when you have Ferrari, you don't drive it anywhere because youre afraid it will get scratched

that "regret" is a part of the emotional experience in owning one of these excellent cars. it's part of the package, lets us look forward to upgrade to something. (and a non-boring life goal to work hard towards).

I had regrets at first, but after living with my 335xi, I feel confident with my choice. Sure, every time I see an M3/M4 I feel like "I could have had you"...but when I drive my car again that all goes away. Plus, I got mine for a steal so the price difference all puts me off the M3/4.

I don't think this is true. Residuals are 59% vs 63% if I recall correctly and dealers won't negotiate as much on M3/4 as they will on the 4 series.

When I had my M, I didn't have Porsche regret. I test drove both the X5M and the Cayenne Turbo and made a decision. Didn't regret it once. Did have ML63 regret though.

What has been out 2 years? the M3/4 or the 435i? Because when I ordered my 435i last March, BMW didn't even have the M4 on their website yet.

back on topic..yes, I have a little bit regret. I could have ordered a M4 stripper for $3,000 more than I paid for my 435i, plus insurance would have only been $20 more/month..

M is a definite want, but the 335 really delivers a lot, so to me the gap isn't that big

Here in Canada, a reasonable equipped M would be around 20K - 25K more. Yes! Of course I'd love to have gotten one, but the price different is huge compared to my 335

Link didn't work but I'll take your word that those are current. I got my info from F80 post and saw 66% and 63% for 36/10,000. That's waaaaaaay off. That just shows its best to get the important stuff from your CA.

I tend to think an M would be too rough for a daily driver which would also leave it parked at home for weekend trips. That's a big reason I opted for a 335i over an M235i.

I recently test drove an M4 and coming from a 2004 Z4, I found the suspension downright comfortable as a daily driver.

They are way off? Look at the deals that have been posted on F80post. Just talked to a dealer last week about an F80. 65% residual.

Read post #12. 65% is way off from 58%.

65% is awesome, 2 points higher than my 435 residual back in December '13.

Right idea, wrong criteria.

You're making way too big a deal about fractional differences in engine sizes. The 'regret' occurs when you have a Kia (regret Honda), then a Honda (regret Acura), then an Acura (regret BMW), and so on.

It's the brand and the prestige that make people go "ooh", not 0-60 times.
