BMW Store Vancouver = Epic Fail...
So we booked our car in for the routine annual oil change to get a call from the SA this morning saying they had a minor damage to the vehicle and would need it longer. We arrived there to find this..

We did only to really fall on deaf ears.. we had issues with the vehicle one year ago and dealt with Koren who has got to be the most Blase person on the planet. Always trying to pass the buck onto someone or something else and never taking accountability for anything.. just simply useless. We event sat down with Dimitri the GM of the dealership and that was a biggest waste of time. I'm trying to file a complaint with BMW Canada to see if that does anything.

that is brutal. i would lose my mind.
demand some sort of compensation. you basically lost your car for another week. I would not be walking away from this situation without some sort of comp. |

Yeah I'm trying to get an idea of what sort of compensation I could get for this..Waiting for a friend that works as a manager at ICBC materials damage to see their point of view on the whole matter. basically they've now added a declaration to vehicle for the damage incurred so that will be carried around in the event of resale. Granted the vehicle is a lease but now they've ruined the option for us to buy it out at lease end (not that we would want to) but using it as a form of leverage.

Sorry to see the damage. It always hurts when that happens, especially if you take extra care of your car.
If the dealer has their own body shop they will do it on their own so it may not show up in databases as damage. I would tell them to replace the door, and give you a loaner while the work is being done. |

I remember when one of the lot attendants at The BMW Store left a customer's X3 parked partially on the sidewalk, only to have a parking/traffic cop walk by and give my SA a warning instead of writing up a ticket.

Sorry to see that.
BMW Store is horrible but if you live near there it's convenient. Next time go to Jessel if you don't mind the drive to Boundary.

OP, let us know how it unfolds. I want to see how they actually deal with it.

Auto West seems to be quite open to retrofits as long as you're able to speak to the Shop Foreman. Service was not stellar, just okay. The technicians there know what to get done and know how to do it well. Brian Jessel, service is okay however the parts department doesn't seem to like handing out discounts. However I've heard plenty of stories where they change the plate frames and add BJ stickers to your car whenever it comes in. Heck even a co-worker who went to pickup their car had BJ plate frames on, when it came in without ANY frames. Last edited by Tim@codemybimmer; 12-10-2014 at 08:15 PM.. |

So I contacted BMW Canada via their Facebook page, twitter and social email account and had rep call me back within a day. She took my story and said she would be contacting the BMW store to get theirs as well. She also said she would file a complaint on my behalf against the BMW Store so it's official as she said that my car shouldn't have been damaged in the first place. I'm waiting for her to call me back today to see where they stand on things.
So Koren Carr (Service Manager at BMW Store) that we've dealt with numerous times now, was insistent on us taking it No.1 Collision however I told her I'd feel more comfortable taking it to Korva for the work. Kept giving me this lame excuse story that No.1 is BMW certified and how they have the right paint codes etc.. and Korva doesn't?..right... My guess since they're trying to do the work off the books they're trying to get the cheapest possible way out and since no.1 is their go to shop I'm sure they would get a deal. I've heard of bad stories about the place however which was why I was hesitant. Found out a friend of mine is a SA at Brian Jessel so next time I'm gonna give him a shot as like was mentioned the BMW store was the closest and most convenient location for us, but my initial thought was how bad could an oil change be?!? when booking it in. Big Mistake!... |

Getting the car was a decent experience as I know Alan Chan via a friend of mine so he did look after us on that side of things.. however Service is a completely different department to Sales and that is where they are totally let down as a dealership as that place is simply run by monkeys that have no idea how to treat a customer with any form of service whatsoever.

A co-worker bought a E90 335 from BMW Store and just couldn't get resolution on car issues from their service department. He has now sworn off of BMW's.
I had issues with my 135i cab that required them to replace the entire roof and it was painless. It's all about their attitude.

So the BMW Canada rep wasn't too much of a help either.. basically saying the store was just offering to repair the damage and no other form of compensation for the inconvenience... sigh...
Edit: Looking into "Accelerated Depreciation" and "Diminished Value" law to see if there is a case here worth pursuing or not. Last edited by gunmetalgrey; 12-09-2014 at 05:17 PM.. |

sorry but this sounds horrible.
even if starbucks messes up my order they give me a free drink. you think messing up a $50k+ car, they should work on their customer service. There have been bad stories about the BMW dealerships where I am as well. But since I've gotten my car they have been really good. I've been looking into some mods, and have conversations with 2-3 different service/parts people through email on a daily basis. always offer great advice. They have even referred me to other places I can buy parts for cheaper than they can sell me. granted I haven't needed to bring the car in for any type of servicing yet. |

Over the years every time I had to deal with BMW Canada, it was a total waste of time, these guys are useless when it comes to relations with their dealers.

Yep all they are offering is just to fix the damage.. nothing about the fact that we are paying to drive a 335' and initially was given a piece of shit X1, until we complained and then "upgraded" us to a 320.. fml..
