To F31 owners regarding load cover automatically raised when opening the tailgate/win

This is for F31 owners around the world, just a quick question regarding about whether your touring load cover automatically raised when you open your back window/tailgate?

In Australia F31 Touring Brochure, this is listed as standard feature, but i can only lift the load cover manually, not AUTOMATICALLY as stated on the brochure.

So far i know three F31 australia owner can't get the load cover raised automatically upon opening.

I am in Canada and its a manual operation. I've never seen the cover move automatically ever on any vids or BMW literature.

if they change the word automaically, then it's fine. The sentence is ever confusing, the load cover is raise automatically when you pull the handle, but not when you open the back window/tailgate!

Someone in BMW needs to check the correct English grammar!

My cover is never raised automatically (not when opening the tailgate, not when opening just the window)
Thought this was a 5-series only feature.

Used to do so on my E91, but needed to close it down manually. Yes, F11 does have auto opening and closing of the cover.

Wonder why they have dropped the feature in the F31, as it is only a catch mechanism to release and allow the cover guides up the runners.

My F30 trunk lid opens automatically when I press the trunk key.

Maybe F31's don't because it's bigger/heavier?

This is about the load cover, not the hatch or window itself.

is this still not happening on the latest models i.e. how do you raise the load cover when you open the glass tailgate?

It is totally manual on the F31 despite the brouchure saying it is automatic. It doesn't go up or down automatically.

The F11 automatic system is much better where it goes up and down electronically.

Some people prefer the F31 system over the E91/E61 where it popped up automatically but you'd then forget to pull it down.

I have done it so many times in the up position when driving off... need to pull over to put it down, otherwise, can't see anything and embarrassing...

After a year I have got used to it and rarely forgot. Happens more often for me when I drop someone else off and they get something from the boot.

On the F30 the auto open on the bootlid is for cars with Comfort Access. Possibly the same for F31?

We are talking about the cloth load cover for wagon, the f31 boot with comfort access is still the same to kick under the bumper and closed by the power tailgate button

So you just slide it up with your hand (daft question I know, ) , then back down as or the older e91 / e61 .

Hmm first work problems eh!
