My new 335i delivered - anyone else hear a thud when opening a door?

Hi all,

Let me set the stage: I parked and turned off the car in my garage last night. This morning I opened the back left door (again, the car is completely off) and I hear a muted thud/whooshing sound.

Does anyone know what this thud sound is? I can only deduce it is the sound of something "engaging" since it is only observed when the vehicle is off and the auxiliary power is initially kicked on. It happens every time, given this scenario.

Just for grins, here is my order/delivery time line:

3/03 - order submitted
3/15 - vehicle produced
3/26 - en route to USA
4/09 - arrived Panama Canal
4/10 - arrived West Coast VDC
4/24 - arrived local Dealership

My car makes a ton of sound when I open a door after it has sat over night. Something in the trunk area setting/engaging, some distinct vacuum/woosh sound, etc. I thought they all to that?

My x3 35i makes some electric sound of something engaging after the car has been left parked for some period of time. When I first got it, I was quite conscious of it.

That's probably the fuel pump and it's normal.

mine has the same sound as well...:/ I'm not sure what it is but I think it's normal though...

Guys, guys, guys! It's the dilithium crystals warming up - that's all. Nothing to worry about. Or wait...it might be the flux capacitor...
