I'm just curious... which rivets do you have? The ones on the left or the right or something entirely different?

I'm using the ones on the left. I brought in one of the rivets used on my originally (dealership) installed OEM m-performance lip to the parts dept, and they matched it up to the 51118174185. And thats what i'm using now on my new Selma lip. I like them because they are removable/reusable with some needle nose pliers and super easy to work with.

The rivets to the right are the ones from the BMW install guide for the OEM m-performance lip (part #7002953). They are way different. They are like typical pop rivets where once you install them, the bottom flares out, and the top of the pin breaks off. They are somewhat permanent, so to take them out, you gotta drill out the pin.
Hey squidlyboy, I actually ended up buying both sets, for some reason they aren't going into the holes and end up falling out.

Trying to figure out another solution.

Odd... i can see that with the ones i used since they flare out only as much as the pin pushes the inner part out, but with the rivets specified by the install guide, the inside part flares out into a "3-section flower" thats approx 1/2" wide. I can't see how it could fall out of the hole.

Of course, this is a permanent, non-removable, non-reusable solution, so i opted for the other rivets.

Ohhh you need a rivet tool for these...LOL... I thought you turned it around and push in like a typical expansion pop rivet..I feel dumb now. I was like shit the hole is too big since i pushed it in and the rivet kept falling out.

I'm sure they will restock soon.

Yah I highly doubt he will stop selling these. I am about to buy another one since winter is coming and will pull mine off and then put on a new one on next spring.

What is this rivet tool you speak of?

I'm planning on keeping the lip all winter. The car shares driving duty with my E90 so if it's too bad out, I'll avoid going to work or drive the E90.

The tool i have is from Harbor Freight. They're all very similar, but this one came with a boatload of assorted pop rivets, which made picking this one easier.

I probably shoulda mentioned that the rivet i used on my lip is a manual re-usable expanding rivet, while the other one is normal pop rivet that needs a tool to install. Sorry
.

I see RW Carbon has 3 front lip choices, for the F30 at least. Which one is this?

anyone know which rep lip looks MOST like OEM?
Specifically looking for a F30 front lip where the center piece can be seen. I think it looks better that way. Some reps have no center piece or its so tiny you dont see it.
