Ugh, if only BMW offers Xenons as a stand alone option. Isn't the E90 like that?

I broke mine (E91) hitting a deer head because of the poor range and low sharp cut-off of those xenons. An $1800 headlight fix. Ouch! Could've been worse I guess.

The regular halogen headlights on my 128i (E88) may not look as cool but are 10x better on a country road.

If you can, test-drive those HIDs before buying and you may be surprised!

You paid $230.00 for a Xenon D1S Bulb! ~Seriously, that is how dealers make money.

You can get a PAIR from Amazon for less than $100

This is about the only bit that I missed in all of my research. When I found that I wasn't getting the halos I was really disappointed...but I found it ridiculous to pay $4500 more to get the halos. The car does look way nicer with them, but I just couldn't see upping the price that much. Hopefully something aftermarket comes along that's much cheaper!

I'm still debating getting Xenons. Just curious, why are they a "must have" for you? Is it a looks thing, or a lighting performance thing? I'm still weighing the pros and cons. Thanks.

Because a BMW without angel eyes is like Cola light, it just isn't right.

A BMW without the angel eyes is like a Audi without LED DRL or a Mercedes without the tri star emblem. Why buy a BMW if you are not going to buy the BMW trademark angel eyes.

to be fair, the halogens are still two round circles, they just don't light up. the older BMWs are the same way, circles and no lights. seems almost "ricer" to me, people worrying about lights.

my point is, the car is still a BMW, it still drives like one. so what if it doesn't have pretty lit up circles? i see lots of them with halogens, more so than xenons. i don't think any less of those cars.

Only people that need the coronas are worried about what other would think of them imo

to say its not a bmw unless it has the angel eyes is the most ignorant comment ever, what a jackass comment

Just got my 328i a couple weeks ago without xenons. I do look to eventually get angel eyes, but the car drives awesome that I forget about'em once I'm driving.

What's funny is that my gf and I never noticed angel eyes until shopping for the 328i. Never noticed them on older bimmer models driving down the street. I notice them on most bimmers now that I'm aware they exist, but yea never even noticed them before...

Because I don't want to pay $4500 to get them. Simple! You buy a BMW for the driving experience IMHO. The angel eyes are just icing. I love the look, but I'm just not going to pay for all those other options just to get them. No doubt there will be aftermarket ones available very soon...I'm guessing 4-500 bones.

Sadly, the Halos are synonamous with anything BMW these days and BMW want's to charge you extra for such a system. It's unfortunate. Especially when they seem to cost 4500 bucks. The bi-Xenon lights are cool, but to me it's the Halos that really set our Bimmers apart.

BUT? Has anyone who has commented here actually been to the dealership and ordered the car through their system. Their system is not the same as On-Line build your vehicle system, which I've been told several times is flawed. And I bet you can order that 900 dollar option without the $3600 Premium upgrade. Which by the way is really nice. What can I say... I really like Lumbar, my nifty Garage door opener, Leather Seats, the Sunroof, Comfort access, and automatic seat memory. (after my wife drives with her key I walk up to my car with my key and the seat is already changing position for me!)

So for me it was go with the Premium Package, the stuff that makes the car worth owning!... but I'll definitely be looking into some whiter light bulbs! Sylvania zXe's anyone?

I love being a screwball. I have the stupid angel eyes disabled on our 1er, and for twelve years, I apparently drove a fake BMW, since my M Coupe didn't have goofy angel eyes or HID's. Strange, it was still 1000x more fun than any modern BMW...
