Wrapping cross bars behind grill?

Hi,

Thinking of wrapping the bars that are behind the grilles (in front of cooler) in a nicer color.
I have a Alpine White F30 and want to wrap them in 3M Satin Ocean Shimmer.

I can find this on Ebay for 20x30cm, which would be enough if the bars are 30cm in length.

I have no good way to measure without pulling the grills out, so does anyone know the dimensions needed for wrapping these two bars?

Thank you!

Hej,

Just get the kidneys carefully out, clean the rods, buy the wrap and cut out 2 stripes á 370 x 80mm. Position adhesive first on backside of the rods and start your way wrapping around it. Im not quite sure if the rods of the 3-series are significant shorter than the 4 series...did you measure them entirely?

Thats all

Thank you! I found this dimension 370x80mm, but that thread was regarding the F32. Are they the same length?

EDIT: Didn't see the last sentence, that's what I don't know. I haven't tried measuring them yet.

Just from seeing I would highly recommend you to remove the kidney on one side an look closely how long your rods are. If you're cutting too short and pick the wrong start point, this would turn worse. Kidney removal is about few minutes and worth the afterwards effort

It's impossible to do without pulling the grilles out anyway, so might as well pull them out to measure before you cut. I'll add that they hold up really well and look great when you're done.
