For very specific reasons that fit my current state - I need AWD since I moved from the flat city to the rural hills and also frequently drive my car to the mountains of PA/NY/VT to ski. Maybe if it actually snows next winter I'll drive up to Tremblant, QC. Although it's 98% me alone in the car, I needed something with 4 doors in case I ever needed to throw the family in there. Also, I don't really drive automatics well, so I had to have a manual.

At 4,200 miles in my 340ix, I do wish I had gotten an F80 LCI M3 instead but then again I'd be obsessing over whether to add the Competition Package for another $5500 (you have to get it) and there goes the vicious cycle of upselling myself to more than I need.

It was really about getting a car with xDrive so that I could at least convince myself it was a more practical and less expensive vehicle than the F80 M3.

The M3 or M5 might make better sense for me in 3 years. Sadly, it looks like the G30 M5 will not available in a manual.

Thanks...simple set of H&R Sport's (for xDrive) ...couple hundred bucks.

To the OP...I don't have any hard data, but lowering the car certainly gave the feeling of reduced "floatiness" and body roll.

That's the best option for sure, same for non-xdrive.

Not expensive, seems to go really well with MSport Shocks, great drive, I have no complaints very happy with my HR Sports.

Thanks Laguna. Sorry to jack your thread momo. I'm waiting to see Dinan and KW's offerings for the 340xi, nothing yet.

Will putting these H&R coils on the csr have any effect if you have the adaptative suspension? Just asking as im planning to get a 340 with it and wondering if it has an impact!

I have the adaptive suspension and i haven't seen any issues after two years. I'm sure there are many threads in the suspension forum regarding this topic...so we don't hi-jack the OP's thread.

Good to know. All I want is a tiny bit of a drop, just enough to at least get it close to a non xDrive. ~10mm I think. As long as it doesn't effect VSS or the M Dynamic Dampers I'll be ok with it. Price seems on point.

Dinan springs and shockware will drop you 3/4", ~19mm, if you're looking for a lower ride height.

Actually FYI I'd check with Dinan on that, their xDrive springs aren't out yet for the 340i, but the RWD 340i springs now drop the car 1" per Dinan's website. So they might have gotten a little more aggressive.

If you see a line through stop-start on your dash then the ASS is on. it is merely telling you conditions aren't right for it to engage. Hit the ASS button, and if the light above the button turns red then ASS is off.
