LED headlamps.

Worth it? Are they really much better than the standard xenon?

I recall seeing an article in one of the automotive magazines and as with house LED vs CFL. Yes better. But worth the price? It is up to an individual.
Definitely looks cooler. But I do not think it will add on resale value. Maybe resalability.
I did order it on my 435i (still waiting for prod# )

Sold a 535GT with the LED headlights and they do look cool and are brighter than Xenons. I will be getting them on my next BMW

I think they definitely look awesome, but I can't imagine needing "brighter" than xenons. I couldn't justify spending 1,900 on the package.

I'll wait for laser or for them to be more reasonable in price (~1,000)

When we get another car in with the LED's, I'll take a pic of the two side by side and post it if it hasn't been done by then

I asked that question earlier this year, wondering whether the LEDs were better than the xenons in a practical way. Will I see further or more clearly with the LEDs compared to the xenons? Will people approaching me hate me because of the LEDs being too bright or obnoxious in some other way? No one could give me an answer. If they are equal, then to me it's not worth the cost to be "cool". I didn't order them on my car. I stayed with the xenons with the auto headlight option added on.

LED lamps put out a different/better light than a Xenon lamp; it's whiter and closer to sunlight.

Just seems crazy to me.

Both Xenons and LED's are cutoff, so they "light up" the same area at night. I feel like the Xenon's, especially with high beams, are extremely bright as is.

Even if we were to assume beam pattern and absolute brightness were identical; LED lamps put out a different wavelength of light that provides better visibility.

I'll likely opt out in favor of allocating my money elsewhere on the options list.

I had xenons and adaptive xenons in my cars since 2000, and now my 528 has LEDs. I can honestly say I see a difference on this car driving the same unlit country roads that I take every morning before sunrise with the LEDs. The LEDs are much whiter and light a wider path (but that might just be a F10 vs E92 thing), especially with the highbeams on.

BMW's adaptive Xenons are really good but for me, seeing Bambi before he jumps out at me is worth the price, but it might not be for you if you normally only drive in well lit places.
