I was attempting my first time coding, and got all the CAFD NCD files backed up.

I wanted to first try something lower risk, and decided to remove the iDrive disclaimer. However, I then encountered my first problem. When I tried to enter coding mode, I was given this error after I entered my PIN (which was set as "1234" during the initial setup phase):

NM, found the solution already:
http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...&postcount=358

I was running the wrong E-sys, i needed to run "E-Sys Premium" which had the red+blue icon, not the E-sys with all blue icon.

Questions about coding:

For CLM_TIMEOUT_HK_SMO, which is described in the cheatsheet as "Change the Comfort Access trunk opening delay. (HEX value by 0.1 secs)".

The default value is incorrectly stated as wert_04. On my 2015 it is wert_03. The suggested value in the cheatsheet is wert_01 but I'm also assuming I need to change the "werte" value to be a HEX value correspond to the 0.1s values I want.

The default werte value is 7 which is decimal 7.. so does this mean it is set as 0.7s delay by default?

Also, what is the difference between wert_01, wert_03 and wert_04 for this code?

All that matters ever is the actual Werte Value. Under no scenario will you ever change both the drop-down selection and the Werte Value directly. It is one or the other, but never both. Normally you are able to change the drop-down selection using the predefined Function values, and it will automatically change the Werte Value for you accordingly. In cases where their is no predefined Function value that produces a Werte Value that meets your needs, then you directly edit the Werte Value, and the predefined Function value will then change to UNKNOWN.

New 4 Series, latest file, when I connect the cable the NIC on the computer goes crazy going from Network Cable Unpugged to Identifying back and forth quickly, as if it's being plugged and unplugged in.

Can't establish a connection. Took the same cable same laptop to another car and it works just fine, something with the car? Any Ideas?

If you edit Werte Value, it is custom, so you can use whatever delay you want. My F10 is set for default coding. I have not changed the delay of it.

HI Again Shawn,

Thanks for the response. The issue I am experiencing is that the trunk button for a F30 2015 is very protruding and if its my pocket and a lean against anything, the trunk open. It has been several times that I find my trunk open in the morning. Luckily I have not lost anything from my car. My solution was to extend the delay of the trunk to react to the button on the fob. That would decrease the chances of my trunk opening unintentionally.
Thanks for the info. I will play with the Wert options to increase the delay to open the trunk.
Have a blessed day.

Hi Kromix,

You can find the FDL in FEM_BODY > 3040 > CLM_TIMEOUT_HK_SMO

I tested on that timer but it did not do the trick. There are other timers in the same 3040 folder. I will investigate a little further and see if I hit the nail testing with other timers in the same folder since the descriptions in most of them state the same thing. So its kind of a little confusing. Maybe the other timers are related to other models... Who knows..

I downloaded the files from my car to my computer so its easier to look at all the options without having to be inside the car or connected to the car computer.
You can test as well on your part and let me know.

Regards

HU_NBT > 3000 > ASD_SOUND_OFF > aktiv

What it active? I activated and did not notice difference in my car. This is to increase domestic snoring in the car?

Your car has to have ASD for this to do anything. Do you see an ASD ecu?
