Ok here we go again. Album Art Info
Can someone please explain how I can get album art to show in my iDrive screen. Simplify this for me please. I have tried and to no avail. I have tech package, but no enhanced Bluetooth. Thanks in advance.

Enhance Bluetooth is part of the Tech Package, unless that was not true for the 2012 model.
Are you using the USB in the armrest? If you use Bluetooth (maybe USB too), the album art must be embedded in the song file for the iDrive to read and display it. Itunes does this using the Info tab for each song. |

in itunes, select the songs from the whole album, Get Info and you will see a blank album art on the lower right area together with the artists and other info . go to google search for the album art, try getting a bigger pixel file, copy/drag and drop to the album art info area.
synchronise with your iphone. I am not sure iTunes built-in album art update will be copied over but should if you use your iphone. |

The USB in the arm rest will act like a mp3 player and allow music and display art if configured correctly. |

Yes, again if the mp3 files you use on the USB have the art embedded in the file. iTunes can do this, as I suspect many of the song management apps can do, as well.

If you are using USB , it is better not to use iTunes but simpler music file editors , search for "MP3 Rename" in google and get a free trial copy of such software, you will select the files in the USB and make sure art album pictures ate attached to your files..

Unfortunately, there is no way to edit the play list or add tracks to an existing album. |

From how I understood it, if you don't have the tech package or navigation, and thus the standard iDrive and NOT the widescreen variant, you will NOT have album art functionality.
