My hood is not aligned to the bumper

And it's pretty bad. I was in an accident, it was replaced, some parts were not aligned properly, and I'm out of ideas.

Anyone familiar with this that would be willing to meet up and take a look at it?

Please refrain from the "if you went to a good shop, this and that" or "bring it right back to the shop".

I'm on my own here, and i'm looking for the best way to align it, whether it be by retightening certain screws that i haven't tried already, or by adding washers.

Let me know if anybody would be down to meet up. I'm in the Queens (Maspeth) area.

BTW it's an F30 (M-Sport)

Thanks!

Was your hood part of the damage/repair? More than likely it is the bumper that is misaligned. When you open the hood, there are 4 (I think) screws that fasten the top of the bumper. From experience, a small adjustment in them makes a huge difference in the bumper/hood alignment. I had my bumper painted and was unhappy with the alignment and recall playing with those screws for 15-30mins to achieve near perfect fitment.

Because I was paying in cash and asked them to fix is as cheap as possible. Too far to go back now.

This is more likely the lights. I had Depo’s installed and had the similar issue. Was improved/ fixed by installing washers under the like fixture to push it up.
Mother installer did it so I don’t know the exact location. Went in via the wheel well.

That might be the case. The lights are pretty bad currently, one on the left is actually missing tabs on the bottom, but i'll try to get in there and see if i can lift the lights in some ways.

Thanks!

From this pic, the bumper is not aligned properly

From what I understand, it can be shimmed to fit closer to the bumper. Unfortunately, I do not have experience doing it myself. Here is how my aftermarket bumper fits

Although my bumper is new, it's OEM. I'll try loosening the entire bumper and re- assembling it, see if that does anything.

Thanks!

I don't think you need to loosen the entire bumper; I believe another poster recommended adjusting it along the line where the bumper meets the hood. You may need to buy washers to stick below the plastic to raise it on the edges to proper fit.

I tried messing with washers, but wasn't successful with it, hence this post asking to meet with someone that's done it instead =\

I'll keep trying. Thanks!
