Anyone have pic of the rear reflectors install before and after? Post if you replaced the red rear reflector to match the color of the vehicle exterior body paint.
Thx! |

Ok, got it done
No need for pry tools, just a 8mm socket and a heatgun...also a pair of gloves Do not try to do this in cold temps, my first attempt fail cuz the outside temp was around 40-50 degree. I'll say 60 degree and above will be better. I use the heatgun on low and you have to heat all around the reflector for a good 3-5 minutes. Also a good idea to use a rope to hold the plastic fender. I tie it against the wheel so that it will remain open for access. Push on the reflector and it will come off, if not keep heating it

I think many have already stated that a hair dryer or heat gun makes the job 100x easier. I used a hair dryer and it worked great. It may not seem like its really doing anything but let it sit there for a solid 3 minutes and you will notice it start to work its magic. AFter abuot 5-6 minutes, then entire reflector could peel off fairly easily. I used a plastic pry tool to help. I started the hair dryer at the top and then worked my way down. GL to the rest of you! It really is quite easy! |

Be VERY careful with any type of pry tool...you can edge your bumper
Just heat the adhesive and push it out

Using what from the inside or the outside?
Hairdryer hitting it from the outside Pry tool just a little bit from the inside at first (kind of tough to get around the camera), and the once the reflector was clearly starting to peel off more easily, I would use the pry tool from the outside to simply separate the reflector from the bumper by sliding it between the two, separating the glue. At this point you probably could use your hands to press the reflector inwards to separate it but I didn't like how the bumper was deflecting (although it was probably harmless). Oh and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. USE WORK GLOVES to do this job (i think some others have mentioned this is important as well). They allow you to work with the hair dryer still running. It did get very warm, but it allowed me to work through the heat of the hairdryer. If you try to do this without gloves, your hands are going to burn! I have a pair similar to this that I use to do random jobs around the house. http://www.homedepot.ca/product/boxe...-gloves/967952 Last edited by E30toF30; 05-28-2015 at 01:30 AM.. |

Finally pulled the trigger on these and installed just now. I was hesitant about ordering them cause I wasn't sure they would look good on my car, even though I'd seen you guys' pics and thought they looked awesome! Nevertheless, I switched them out, and WOW, what a world of difference it makes! Call me crazy, but I think they even make my halogen headlights look better!! On the other hand, and slightly off topic, I switched the indicators to LED the other day, and am currently waiting on my xenon retrofits from Mike at XPH. I CANNOT wait until I install the xenons, it's totally gonna set off the look!
Install was fairly easy. Didn't use a heat gun or anything, just the pry bar that was included with the kit. I didn't shove the pry bar all the way thru like in the installation pics, I just wedged it far enough into the bottom of the reflector (from the inside) to where I could see it slightly from the outside of the fender, and then shimmied it across the bottom to release the adhesive. Once the bottom was free, just used my hands to carefully peel it off completely, remove the gunk, and install the new reflector. Passenger side took me maybe 10 minutes, being my first attempt. The driver side was easier, took me about 5 minutes, probably because the sun was directly hitting the fender. Will post pics soon!

No. The non M Sport reflectors are straight and run horizontally, whereas the M Sport reflectors are curved and run alongside the edge of the fender.

Has anyone had problems installing the new set of reflectors? I was able to get my stock reflectors out with some prying and wasn't too hard.
I cleaned off the area, removed the adhesive and dried, but when I installed my cleared out markers (NON-IND), they left a gap that is very noticeable due to the adhesive not sticking on one edge. It was some 3M brand adhesive so this issue was unexpected. Does the IND reflector use the OEM adhesive? |

If it's warm enough I suggest taking the car for a drive before you do this. Plenty of radiant heat from the brakes/tires and in 80-85 degree weather the reflectors should pop right out - no pry tool or heat gun required. Super easy. Scrape the residue off, clean up with alcohol and install the new ones. Took about 15 min total time, post drive.
