Brake change
Does anybody know how many miles before the brakes should be replaced on the F30 328i? A few months ago the vehicle status was stuck saying 1000 miles until service. I took to BMW and they claimed it was a software error. So the reset my software and now it says 30000 til service. I find that strange since I've driven almost 10000 miles since the reset. Can anybody help clear this up for me? My car has about 31000 miles. It's a 2013 328i purchased in 2012.

the 30K til next regular service sounds about right. If you have iDrive, what does it say for Brakes (Frt & Rear). The respective Brake pad wear sensors tell the system approximate mileage until due for pad change and the system will display an Alert when you reach about 1000 miles prior to the change point.
I assume the Non-iDrive system will display similar on the cluster by toggling through the Maint menu using the stalk button on the left side of the steering wheel. |

I'm having a similar story. The iDrive system in my 2013 328xi claims front brakes due for service in 2200KMs, yet it said that last weekend prior to us driving 600+KMs. I have it booked in for other service and when I spoke to the service advisor he suggested for a car with 25000KMs that either the sensor was faulty or the iDrive report is incorrect.

Just had mine ('13 328ix) in at 12,900 for first oil service and iDrive said 1200 mi to front brakes. SA said there was a software error, and when I picked the car up, iDrive said 12,000 mi to next oil, 16,000 for front brakes and 29,000 to rear bakes.
