How to code out the vehicle tracking menu

I want to code out the vehicle tracking menu while the tracking is on

To ensure there is more security invovled if the car is stolen and the thieves just can't turn the tracking off.

Its pointless to have it there when it can just be turned off

Does anyone know what to code our via bimmercode expert mode

Not sure if that's even possible, but I'm curious too . Easier to just hide an air tag somewhere in the car...

Unless the thief has an iPhone on their person. They'll be alerted that there is a tracking device in the car within minutes.

Anyone know how to disable the Airtag's ability to confess its presence? Asking for a friend.

That's why you hide it deep in the dash, or even inside the head unit, pillars etc. Plus, you could use several tags. That all being said, if my car is stolen I don't want it back, won't be the same.

I've seen threads talk about doing this so pretty sure it's possible. I can't find a thread though. I've found threads with conjecture of which setting to code to remove the menu option but not confirmation from a user in a thread.

Based on my understanding from previous threads, disabling vehicle tracking in iDrive only disables your ability to track it in the My BMW app as it will still be trackable by BMW and law enforcement just as long as they haven't disconnected the combox.

They can maybe only view your vehicle location with your consent, but I'd be surprised if it still wasn't tracking in the background.

Even when you disable all tracking in your phone, it still can be found....

This thread eludes to it. Try one of the first couple coding options in the latter post by Daftasabrush. If you get this to work report back with your findings.

Tip: You can search this site easier from Google just enter your search terms like disable vehicle tracking menu and add site:f30.bimmerpost.com and it will only include results from this site.

When a BMW is stolen, the headliner is immediately torn down and the antenna wires ripped out. So coding out the tracking menu is useless. This is a common fix I do for insurance companies on almost all stolen recovery BMW's

I also think it is quite naive to think disabling the option would do anything. Those who know to look for it (and don't find it) will simply rip off the antenna/GPS or pull a C/B to be sure. Plus - people use pocket-sized GPS jammers nowadays when they don't want to be tracked Just saying...

Airtags are completely useless too - first of all their location is not updated that often (I can't even successfully track my cat with them) and second of all the thieves will be notified for being tracked.

I think the only solution that stands a chance is a separate, stand-alone GPS tracker hidden somewhere in the car, ideally battery-powered.
