Drove a loaner today - Drivetrain malfunction?? Already

A friend of mine has his 5 series at the dealership and currently driving an f30 335i loaner. I'm still anxiously waiting for mine... So decided to take his for a spin. Drove it for about 15 minutes, and within that time frame the car gave me 2 drivetrain malfunction errors. I had to turn off the ignition and turn it back on. As soon as the car got this error it was definitely in safety mode with 0 boost because it felt extremely slow and didn't go past 3-4k rpm in between shifts and on top of that it felt as if it wanted to stall. Car has about 3000 miles on it.

I know this is a common issue with the F10's, but I pray it isn't with the f30's.

Well I had a drivetrain malfunction in my 2012 328i after 90 miles. Car was shifting really hard while driving home from dealer. Next day on the way back it wouldn't shift out of first gear. A week later and a new tranny took care of it. At 1200 miles now without any more issues.

Mine at 890 miles. Hope I don't need a new tranny.
Heck I was even extremely careful during these first few weeks to never rev the car beyond 4000 rpm.

My wife's from Germany and we did Euro delivery of her 328i and put over 1600mi on the car in 10 days, including some blasts over 200kph on the Autobahn and a detour to the Nurburgring (which I didn't get to drive, damn fog). Car is now approaching 3000mi with no issues. I don't think they're fragile

Car is back... tech says its the VANOs solenoid that logged an issue with the computer.
They swapped it out just as a precaution should the error come back.
We shall see...

I had the same problem and they also told me it was the VANOS Solenoid. Then tried to offer me a crappy rental car as it will not be in stock for a couple days. I told them I didn't spend $50K to drive a frickin Cavalier around.

Exactly, it might be a commonly reported issue on message boards. However, we represent maybe 1%-5% of the BMW driving community.

Reason I considered it to be a common issue is because I personally know about 4 people that have had that issue with their F10, along with other issues which included their turbos to be replaced.
