Opinions on Tire lettering?

Hey guys, I recently got new wheels and with them I got toyo proxes, so as many cars do with these tires, they get the lettering. What do you guys think about tire lettering? Good mod? Waste of money? How many of you guys have done it, and do you have an pics?

A quick google search will bring you more pictures than you care to look at. I have never done it on a BMW, but I have seen pictures of some and they look good, but, only if the car is super aggressive. I would not do it unless your car can pull it off such as on a race car or a car at SEMA...

Concur with the above. Has to be an aggressive car to begin with and I'd also say the car better see regular track duty or its just ghey.

On a highly modded track oriented M car...maybe.

Gives off the "you're trying to hard" look

Beautiful car, how did you do the M style side breathers?
And where did you get your hood from?

From a local shop that does bodykit.. Fitting is pretty good I would say. It's a custom made fender and hood meant for the 4 series and it comes with vents..

Friend of mine has them. They looked great but they don't last long. Probably a couple of months before they start falling off.

Update- don't use the glue that comes with kit. Buy your own something stronger and should stick with no problem.

I think you need to be aggressively low with decent looking wheels to pull off the look.

I thought tire lettering was only done because a tire sponsor requires it so that their product can be more visible. If you don't have a tire sponsor, why give free advertising?

In the 70s & 80s many tires came with white lettering on one face & plain black on the other (non-directional tires). If you weren't driving American muscle you put the white letters on the inside. But I'm not a fan of dark wheels either!

Don't do it! Ridiculous! Too JDM! A fad I hope will die out fast -- and take black wheels with it.
