So im waiting on approval on the opal white. Should be a go. He is saying only 2k total. I will verify this because how can it be only $500 more than dakota especially with the dash being leather aswell.

How does the Nappa leather compare between the Dakota and Merino? I love the shade of the Mocha Brown Nappa leather in the X5, but AFAIK the color is only available with Nappa? I'd love to try and order a MY18 Gran Coupe in Le Mans Blue (E90) with the Mocha Brown Nappa & Leather Dash when my current lease is up!

Yes they do offer black aswell, that was my first choice but with the carbon fiber trim i thought it would be too dark inside so im going with white.

So looks like i'm going to have to put up with the dakota leather. We got rejected on the Merino because the car just started production. |

If this helps any; I upgraded from a 335i with Dakota to an M3 with Merino a few months ago. Whilst Merino is nice; the cost on the 340i is eye-watering. Stacking up extra after extra is all money down the toilet when it is time to move on; and as someone else rightly pointed out; you are staying towards M3 territory.
You should keep hold of the saving in outlay that staying with Dakota has brought you - it really is not that different; and think of all the lovely things you can buy for the $1500!

Deposits are legally refundable in pretty much every state (I do not know a state where they aren't). If you don't want the car, you don't have to take it.

How much longer does the car take if you get the merino leather approved?
Also does getting the merino leather include the leather dash or is that a separate option.

Not sure on the dash, but I would assume it's separate. |

Talk to your CA. I debated getting an M3 w my CA well after my car entered production and he said it wouldn't be a problem to order another car even if it meant he had to resell my car to someone else.
