Those with the AFE Intake installed...

I'd like to get feedback from you guys since quit a few of you are running the AFE intake.

Please describe your impressions; sound/performance/throttle response and if a CEL has popped up since install.

I'm thiking the best way to go for me is AFE intake, (2014) MPPK and a GTHause catback (no mufflers-so light weight and great sound). This should keep me under warrenty and happy for a while with the performance.

We sold a few so far so good.
No CEL ; customers are usually very happy with the sound.

I've had the Magnum Force a little over a month, roughly 600 miles. Quality and fitment are near perfect. No codes, idle roughness, or stumble on an otherwise bone stock car.

Sound is great, but the low RPM (1800-2500) sucking sound could take some getting used to (no different than any other intake, I'm sure). It can be a bit excessive when merely cruising, but it's not bad enough for me to consider it a negative...it's just the sound this turbo makes. Beyond that it certainly changes the note of the engine as you can hear the induction, especially in higher RPM.

Can't say I can actually feel much difference in performance or throttle response, but I know it's there. Dynos have shown 8-9 RWHP and 15 RWTQ (check the 2-Series forum). It's a decent, simple mod for $300.

You have the "dry" one? How often and how much of a pain is it to clean?

Dry. I've never cleaned an air filter on any car I've had. I just buy a new one...they're cheap. I'm sure it doesn't show any signs of dirt yet if I check, and I can't imagine cleaning it to be a pain. Just blow it out with pressured air.

I'm more a fan of dry filters than oiled. Personal preference.

I have the Pro Dry S version and clean mine with soap and water every 10,000 miles. No need to by a new one every time, its a complete waste of money.

I keep reading that people can hear their intake lol. I cant hear mine for shit, maybe my exhaust is too loud? It does make the turbo spool louder which i do like, and maybe its just in my head, or due to the free flow exhaust and HFC DP, but the BOV is much louder too. Occasionally on cold start the engine will stutter but I have no idea what causes it. It doesnt bother me tho.

Sounds like your free-flowing exhaust is drowning out the sound of the intake. But considering you can still hear the turbo spool, I'd say that's a bonus.

If you're on the fence about this intake, BUY IT!!! Installed this last night and it sounds awesome, great turbo spool. I agree, it takes some getting used to, especially when it "whistles" at lower RPM, but it sounds damn good. As a matter of fact, I've been riding with my window down all day...

Would upload a short vid, but can't figure out an easy way to do it...

Upload to a place like postimg.org and then copy/paste the link.

Did you get the Magnum FORCE or the Momentum version? Any rough idle or negative affects noticed?

Likewise, except I have MPPK (and CG Precision exhaust) on my car. It's been a week now, and so far, so good.
Interesting that this seems to be the only intake that doesn't cause CELs on cars with any type of tune...

I see in your sig that you've got the CGP exhaust too - how do you like it?

Here it is prior to putting the engine cover back on:

I picked up the Magnum FORCE with the Pro Dry S Filter. No issues noted at this point, easy install and like it so far.
