Reality check: If you think you're getting V rated tires for the same price as US buyers pay for H rated tires I'd like to interest you in Enron stock, brokered by Bernie Madoff.

Shame..our cars cruise all day long at 80mph without blinking.
Ever drive between LA and Las Vegas?
the desert roadsides there are littered with crosses
the speed of that single lane highway is average 90+mph (not the posted speed)

I hate that drive. I fly when I go to Vegas. Safer/faster

The answer is simple to figure out. If your car came with All Season's from the factory you're limited to 135 mph, if you got Summer tires you're limit is raised to 155 mph. The only time you can get it coded by BMW is if you have less than 10 hours on the ECU.

It's not that simple. The OEM Conti and Pirelli all seasons are available in both H and V rated versions. For the most part base models come with H rated, M Sport with V rated. That's in the US, other markets maybe different.

It really is, look to see if your vehicle came with option 840. It is a build rule with BMW if you get all seasons you get option 840 removed.

My 12' 328i with N20 engine tops out at 155mph because it is the Sportline model. Normally the model will top out at about 135mph.
