I just got delivery of my 335xi m sport today. I had ordered the car with the MPPK to be installed at the port. When I picked up the car today I noticed that the car didn't have the mpp engine cover & no side decals so I told my salesman that I don't think the car has the MPPK installed. he showed me the vehicle window sticker and it said that it had the PPK. In my opinion what they put was the MPE and the black grills. They told me that they going to look into it and if the MPPK wasn't install they going to install it. I have a 6mt has anyone got the MPPK done in the NYC area?

You go under iDrive, profiles, hit "options" and click reset IF your sports displays aren't correct after pick up...was annoying because then I had to reset everything after I imported everything in.

WOW! I have been trying to have my display reset to HP/TQ vs. international units since I got the car. Thanks SO MUCH!
Well...make sure the SIB was downloaded first.

It seems only the US guys are installing this, our European friends have been quite. It would be very interesting to know of their experiences

if your coding was done, reset your profile as I've described above, and it should reset the Sports Displays. I had to do the same...

I drove this today

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

All the 335i with MPPK needs is a drop and you will be in the same league as this

Seriously though, the tq on the Cayman S will give you a concussion. The sound coming from this car is just intoxicating.

Additional finds with PPK.

Roll down windows, put in sport mode and just drive at around 35mph, let off the accelerator and listen to the exhaust make some wonderful music to your ears.

Where's all the torque come from? As far as I know, the Cayman engines are not turbocharged. Are they up to 3.4 liter now on the S or 3.6?

I tried sitting in a Cayman at a car show and I just could not get comfortable - not enough legroom for me. Their build quality has gone way up since I had my Boxster from 1997-2001, but I don't think I'll own another Porsche again (had 5 of them).

+1 on the MPPK/MPE exhaust rumble, though. Not overdone like on the Mustangs, but definitely a "performance" sound.

We have more tq and about the same hp (no forced induction in the cayman) but the cayman just pushed me so hard into the drivers seat something I could not replicate in the 335i. From a stop the 3er feels about the same but if i hit the accelerator from around 35mph the cayman was just violent in the way it pushed me in my seat. Maybe weight comes in, about 500lbs lighter than my 3er.

I don't have MPE yet so I can only imagine the sounds you are getting. The mppk stepped it up a notch but no doubt MPE is a must now.

As I recall, my '97 Boxster was about 2700 lbs or thereabouts, but as it evolved into its Cayman (coupe) counterpart, the weight probably crept over 3000.

Not sure if I could figure out how to get a sound clip for you of the MPE/MPPK combo, but suffice to say, backing off is a lot like a kettle drum - a big one.

I think you owe to everyone to post a clip of the sound with your set up

2014 Cayman S is powered by a 3.4-liter flat-six that makes 325 hp and 273 lb-ft (@ 4750 ). Base curb weight is 2976 lbs. The low weight should help cover up for the 23% lesser torque compared to the 335i with MPPK.

if you're going to post a video of the MPPK with MPE, could someone else post MPPK without MPE so we can all compare? Both 8AT

I just posted up some drive by's of the MPE + PPK...(in a post above).

it's more BOV than anything, but you get a good sense.

Sorry, can't find. Also, it's not a BOV as I was attacked last time I called it that.

I also wanna add that Dinh had posted the PPK without MPE, and someone posted PPK with MPE already. I haven't checked the front page in awhile, and they were up there. I actually like the way the stock exhaust sounds with MPPK (or maybe it's just the audio quality).

Manual MPPK w/ MPE

Manual MPPK w/ StockE + 0 miles

Manual MPPK w/ StockE + 250 miles

I got my car at BMW of Morristown and have been there once (for warranty work). Work was good, quick and the staff is nice. They quoted pretty high for the PPK though.

JMK on 22 has been pretty "meh" in the past. The alternator died on my E46 and a few weeks after them replacing it the belts blew going up a hill.

Wow....even the stock exhaust sounds much better after a few hundred miles. I have the MPPK and have been ready to pull the trigger on the PE....but maybe I'll wait and see how I like the stock after I put a few more miles on..

I am in the same boat as you but look at roundels pic of his MPE. He posted it when show ing the mperformance decals. It just looks cleaner. The stock also tends to have build up of exhaust fumes. I would get the MPE for the cleaner look and sound alone. I agree though the stock sounds fine but the MPE picks it up a notch.
