Sport steering in comfort mode
Anyway to get the tighter steering and stiffer suspension without the aggressive throttle and fuel consumption in comfort mode?
Dealer said the V8 models i.e. 550i is capable of it

I believe if you have it in comfort then hold down the DSC button for a few seconds to turn off the entire DSC, it changes steering and suspension to sport, but throttle/exhaust is same as comfort mode. Im not 100% sure, but thats what it seemed like to me. Maybe someone else can confirm or try it out for yourself and see.

Correct. Holding the DSC button until it turns off gives you the stiffer steering, but normal throttle and transmission shifts. I don't have DHP though, so do t know it that's impacted.

If you can get your car coded, You can enable driving mode selection in iDrive as I did in my car. You can then change sport mode to chassis only instead of drivetrain and chassis and you can achieve what you are looking to do.
EDIT- Whoops, just noticed you have a 2014. The word is that it can't be changed on the 2014's with the NBT iDrive system. Last edited by jrm1316; 09-01-2014 at 07:00 PM.. Reason: Noticed OP had 2014 |

I am confused by the other responses you have received.
On my 2014 F31 you can go into iDrive vehicle settings - drive mode and configure the way sport mode works - choosing one of the following 3 versions - Drive Train AND Chassis - Drive train ONLY - Chassis ONLY I think you want the Chassis only - that gives you the stiffer dampers and steering - but the drive train stays like it is in comfort. If you then want to occasionaly add the drive train sport program as well just move the shifter to the left. There is no way to split the chassis program - with stiffer steering you also get the dampers. Cheers Jim Cash |

In 2012's and 2013's if you don't have DHP you can enable the settings menu via coding as described above. With the 2014's with the NBT system you are out of luck for the chassis/drivetrain settings selection unless you have DHP
