Start Button doesn't turn off car

Occasionally, hitting the start button a second time doesn't turn off the car. The scenario goes like this:

-Pull into parking spot
-Press button, engine turns off
-Remove foot from brake, press button second time...radio is still on
-Press button a third or fourth time to get radio to turn off

Is there some limitation to how quickly you can press the button? It seems like if I wait for a moment or two between presses, it turns off without issue.

I wait at least a second or two. You can't press is immediately back to back real quick.

Unless I have a reason to leave the car unlocked I don't bother to hit the start button to kill the radio. It shuts off when you lock the car, and hearing the radio still on as you walk away from the car is a good reminder that you need to lock it.

I don't lock the car in the garage and I guess it's habit to hit the start button twice.

You can also have the car coded that one press shuts off engine and when you open the door it shuts off everything else.

I coded the car to do that because after I had this same problem where sometimes I'd have to hit the start button a few times to get everything to shut off.
