It's quite serious how bad dealerships valet their customers cars.. a guy I use to do spot repairs on my diamond cut 405m's gets praised & used by Porsche Nottingham all the time (hence why I use him). Alarmingly he told me about how some of their guys doing the valeting literally blasted the wheels clean with a pressure washer just 30 minutes after having them repaired.. lucky for him Porsche had to pay out for a second round of repairs.

So the latest is that the owner is refusing to do anything but offer me a free mini valet He's even now saying that they don't take liability for any damage "and it's in black and white on the wall".. funnily enough the only thing they have on their walls is a price list and a load of car drawings/graphitti so if there is anything now up on the walls it's just been placed up there since my complaint.

He claims the cctv footage shows his staff washing my car in the 'right methods' and that I should have told them that my car was wrapped. I'm sorry but I use a pressure washer each weekend on my car and I've never managed to damage them, not only that the foils are so small in comparison to the surface area of the whole car that I'd really not class it as a wrapped car.

The labour estimate from Sytner triples the price of a new set of decals too, I guess I'll have to stop playing fair with them now and go in a little harsher.

Seen as I'm happy to publicly name and shame them now (due to the fact that the owner is being incompetent) the car wash you should be avoiding is DAC Car Wash in Birmingham.

Seen as they're deleting my posts, here's the review:

What have you heard about them?

They're a bunch of pr*cks in my eyes.. a bunch of degenerates who think they can get away with shit.

I gave them many chances to resolve it and they pretty much laughed and told me to meet them on a trading estate so "their guys" could evaluate my car and try washing it again. Like I was really going to do that.. they've gone quiet ever since my solicitor wrote to them - I'm just opting for the route of putting dirt on their name now, their owner is clearly a waste of space so I'd rather not flush away anymore money on him.

If your not in a bugatti, lambo, ferrari or you are not a close friend or relative don't go there, that is what i've heard , personally i'd never venture to that part of Birmingham unless you want to get drugs or a gun lol

Makes sense now I guess.

I can't say I really took in the surroundings but I only live 5 minutes away by New St train station; which isn't too bad.. but then again I've only lived in Birmingham for just over a year so what can I say haha.

Wow. Really feel for you that this has happened. It would drive me in to doing something thats for sure.

Its a real shame you did not not notice the damage when it was still on their site. I think it would be a very different situation then. I doubt someone did it intentionally, it was probably just someone who did not realise that the decals should not be sprayed at close range.
You can tell by the replies what sort of a place they are. I hope you get it sorted.

They were pretty much brand new too seen as I recently made a warranty claim on them .. here's to hoping they're reasonable and offer to buy me a new set.
I go to a hand wash place. They do the interior as well and even put tire dressing, $25 bucks. Looks like a detail and they wash bimmers, audis, land Rovers. Never had my bimmer at a conveyor car wash, don't trust them and there's too much risk of damage to rims and skirts or even bigger issues if the car shifts into park by itself. Hand wash is the way to go.

They probably use TFR. Maybe that caused the damage?

I didn't see them spray any tfr on - there procedure is simply, jet the car down, foam it, jet it off real close, foam it, jet it off real close, hand wash with some dirty rag, jet it off, foam again and then jet real close.

So it's a mix of getting really close with a commercial pressure washer and drying with blades.
