But you can. Travel to Munich and book the factory tour. You should also definitely do the museum tour. If you love BMWs, and even if you don't but especially if you do, the experience will be nothing short of spiritual.

I am throwing all my BS out the window

Seeing these stunning pictures has made me realize that all my bullshit about "not liking the front end of the F30 bla bla bla" is just that, bullshit and big one. Now I am convinced it looks stunning, and canīt wait until a few years when I can get my hands on one of these...I would love to keep my E90 indefinitely, together with one of these beauties.

stunning car!!!!! The only thing that makes me worry is that they went cheapo on the trunk closing mechanism so I hope they didnt cut costs in other areas. I love the feel of closing a BMW trunk as it feels so solid and well built in comparison to the other cheap spring loaded cars. Hopefully it doesnt feel so cheap in the f30. Otherwise this car is looking better and better by the day.

i must be the only one who actually likes the hoodline...to me it seems like the perfect place to have a joint so a clear bra could be installed without the classic "hood line" typical of such installations...it should also be one piece instead of two (front bumper instead of front bumper/hood)...color choice will be important here too (as many have noted before) and since I tend to prefer darker colors, I'm not worried about it standing out otherwise...can't wait to get my hands on one next year!!!

Can't wait until the production begins of the M4.

PS - what are they doing in the last picture? Looks like the car is taking a dive in some milk
This picture shows the car going through the "ecoat" process. Typically, welded car bodies called "whitebodies" after entering the paint department go through 2 or 3 degrease dunks, and hot water rinse cycles before a phosphate coat, and then a final "ecoat" dunk. The car bodies are positively charged, as they are dunked in an electrodeposition coat that deposits a very fine crystaline particle that is negatively charged. After going through an ecoat incinerator oven to bake on the ecoat and flash off any residues, the car would go through a sealing line, where people or robots apply rubbery seam sealant to various welded seams for water penetration and corrosion resistance. From there its through a the primer booth where positively charged primer is applied to the car. From there it would go through a topcoat booth, where the colour and clearcoat are applied, then through another oven to bake on the finish. Some plants spray each coat individually then the vehicle goes through a drying oven, and a dry sanding process and a wet sanding process to remove paint / primer / ecoat defects in between coats. In other plants there is no oven or sanding process in between, and they spray wet on wet i.e. wet paint on wet primer. Some plants combine clearcoat and topcoat in a single application.

Yes I work in a Paint Department

Heres a video.

take care

...if could be worse...they could have given us a hood prop-rod as well but at least that is a strut system on the F30 from the pictures shown here...that shot of the Black Sportline has be sold on this car (not that I needed much convincing)!!!

I assume you are refering yourself to the picture with a silver chassis being checked by a worker. Isnīt that box where the battery is located in the F30?
