So, there is a specific intersection in my city that every time I come upto the light at the intersection my car literally starts to freakout and all the lights in the dash come on, dials sweep back and forth, the car turns on and off in rapid succession. I am wondering if there is a very strong electrical/magnetic field at that location for the turn lane in the pavement. This is all I can think of, but my car seriously is like possessed when I come upto this intersection has happened every single time I drive upto it. I pull off the side of the road, turn the car completely off then turn it back on. There are no codes that come up as I have a OBD2 reader attached. I'm thinking of calling the city to discuss the issue. Any advice would be helpful.

My girlfriend has been in the car with me and videoed it occurring. Its pretty freaky that it happens every time I come upto this intersection coming home from my road trips. It only occurs when I drive north coming upto the intersection about 200 feet before the intersection.

The location is at the Avenue S and 47th street East(Hwy 138) on the Eastside of Palmdale, CA. The issue only presents itself when I come upto the intersection about 150-200 feet prior to the stoplight. I'm quite baffled about it and think that there is a very strong magnetic/electrical level as you come upto the intersection. This only occurs as I come North uptp the intersection and not when I leave South going out of town. Hoping to figure it out, it only occurs on my BMW, doesn't happen in my truck whatsoever.

This exact thing happened to me out by Pomona. Thought the car broke! It drove just fine though and like you with a reset it was fixed. Are you using Nav? I was at the time and have heard of others experiencing some glitch with the Nav system.

Look above for flying saucers. Drive like hell so they don't beam you up and use the anal probe!

It's not far from the airport, so radar/microwaves or some other sort of navigational aid associated with the airport could be the cause.

Its whole lot further from the airport considering I work at AF Plant 42.....my car should explode when I pull into work daily...tons of radar/microwave stuff happening from Northrop Grumman, Boeing, and Lockheed Martin daily....and lets not forget NASA.

It only occurs at just that intersection as I pull upto the light, at like 200 feet before the light. The stoplight ground loop has to be putting out some serious power I'm guessing....but it doesn't effect my truck.
