Most of the other trim inside is just clips. But older BMW steering wheels it has been torn screws behind it.

It is just clipped in. I changed mine out for glossy CF and love it.

Just be careful. The clips are pretty fragile.

+1. Busted two clips on removal myself. If I cared a lot more to protect the part, I'd have probably removed the airbag (which I now know is quite easy to do). But since I knew the steering wheel trim wasn't going back on, I was a bit more impatient on removal.

I saw two little holes on each back side of the steering wheel. So unclip each side or have to do it together?

I have the OEM CF trim on my shifter and parking brake only. Have dark walnut burl interior trim. I'll try to get some interior pics at some point.
