hmm..yeah, i've floored it in 4th/5th and 6th. 5th and 6th really get the torque moving. but it totally clearly flats out at 300.

and HP? I've never seen it past around 220.
Have you guys ever seen the HP figure spike to a full 320? I've never gotten close. That's not to say I'm not feeling power but curious.

My torque still peaks easier, but never to a full "317" per se (remember I'm MT). It levels out completely at 300. have 2 ticks left (each tick is "8") I've even floored it and it levels out at 300 well before floor-age.

how easily are you guys peaking your displays, and its it in both HP and TQ?

I actually emailed my SA and am going for a ride with the shop foreman tmrw. I know the displays aren't dyno, and a lot people say "well they aren't for real" which to me isn't a good enough answer as to why they won't at least peak. That's pretty much saying BMW made displays for fun and had no intention of them working.
I think you nailed it right on the head, the sport meters are a complete gimmick for fun and I wouldn't waste your time taking it in....I'd be shocked if they actually have anything they can "fix" or " adjust" after a tech rides along with you.

I bought a second hand 2011 e90 from a BMW dealer, and as part of the deal required BMW to do the PPK upgrade. And yes they claimed RRP was around $5k, which I assume will be the same for F30's. Crazy.

Well, others are peaking easily. I don't expect a fix, but from my perspective there's no reason it should be "flattening" out at 300. And by coincidence that's the stock number so I'm naturally wanting an answer.

That does seem a bit strange. I know you didn't feel as much of an increase as us 8at guys have but you did notice it was stronger for sure right? Mine easily gets to 310/320 HP and 325/350 tq. HP up there when I'm winding it out and usually about 330 tq with just a 3 second stab at the throttle. At times 350 when I'm really using all torque.

BTW When oil temp is high (around 250/255) the reading wont go as high though. So it does measure something.

yeah, i find it strange. Hearing you guys say it easily spikes is puzzling to me. I've NEVER seen HP even close to 300. My car is running fine, and yes I do feel more power, albeit less than you 8at guys.

Problem for me is if the displays are a "gimmick" how the hell does it land PERFECTLY at 300 torque then. It literally flattens out there...i can push pedal way deeper and I get nothing but 300. HP, not even close. Car is moving for sure though while this is happening.

me too..basically nothing has changed in terms of the displays. which is annoying! like i said, it's no dyno. but the gimmicky no dyno display is sure good at reporting stock figures. also, why have the AT displays change then if it's all for fun and games.

I've said it once and I'll say it again - the M PPK absolutely blew my expectations out of the water. It is absolutely incredible. I guess you can't beat BMW's tuning prowess?

Also, I finally made it through the break-in period with my new car today.

This is directed at those of you inquiring about what it's like to combine the M PPK with the M PE:

With the M PPK + M PE, you do not only hear the overrun "pop" during upshifts, you feel it. It caught me by surprise today shifting into 5th and 6th in Sport+ using the paddles. Absolutely sensational feeling.
It is funny that I had very little expectations from the MPPK before the install. I was sincerely hoping that I could at least "feel" it. Now I laugh thinking about it. I used to drive an accord V6 before I purchased the 335i and I'm absolutely confident that the jump from the accord v6 to the 335i is surpassed by the jump from stock 335i to 335i w/MPPK (and the jump from the accord to the 335i was a BIG jump!). Before the PPK, the 335i was a fast car. Now is it "ridiculously crazy"

You're making me drool now. i want my car to come back alive!

In all truth, those are some pretty strong statements. I too went from an accord v6 to a 335i and the jump was massive. I normally drive in comfort mode, so I can't wait to see how much better it is. The only thing I wished was that the steering was like how it was in sport mode (and a little more throttle response, but not as much as sport as I like to keep it at the low RPMs to save gas).

I'm sorry for Luke, but I really hope mine does happen like that. Going to call them again later today for an update.
Damn, no loaner? They were out of loaners when I first dropped my car off, but when it wasn't ready that evening they at least tracked down an old Mazda for me....then swapped it out for an X3 a few days later...which came in handy because I needed to haul some stuff around last weekend. My SA has been great about updating me daily with all details (sometimes twice daily) very apologetic throughout the process and assured me that they are waiving all the costs, so that has made it a bit better...but it's still been frustrating as hell. I sincerely hope no one else gets stuck with such a long drawn out process. Let's hope he calls with good news this morning....

They had an IRAP session planned for 6am here on the west coast, but no one was here! So now they gotta set up another IRAP session today. Believe it or not, they did an IRAP session last friday which bricked the car. We'll see where they are today with it at noon PST. Lemme know how yours goes and how long it took.

sport displays

So, met with my SA and shop foreman re: sport displays.

We went on a spirited drive and he found it funny the torque was leveling out and felt it may be a calibration issue and is contacting BMW.

the HP peaked at 320, but torque never.

I'll report back to see what he says/BMW says.
