I have used the BMW dog seats in combination with the seatbelt harness for my 100 pound American Bulldog on my last two E90s and plan to continue to use it on my F30 when it comes. It works great!

Awesome. Thanks for the pics, Tremolo! That looks like a great option, albeit quite expensive.

LOL. My Samoyed used to do that. I'd leave for a minute and she'd be sitting behind the wheel.

Thanks for pics

Great pics. Is there another cover that comes with as well? In some of the pictures online, it looked like there's a shell and then some kind of quilted cover on top.

I've seen the quilted one in product photos only. Never actually seen one installed on a car... I think this one might have replaced it. Not sure what the "shell" thing is. It does come with a huge carrying case that is of good quality.

Thanks for the additional input. This will be the first accessory I buy for the new beast.

Found one on Amazon for $227, which is best price I've seen. Just ordered one for my new F30 that I'm picking up today and thought I'd share the link with other forum members:

BMW Protective Rear Seat Cover - 3 Series Sedan & Wagon (2006+)

Will let everyone know if there are any issues with fit.

Another alternative an E46 Seat Cover

I thought I was going to buy the E90 OEM cover for my F30 sedan. I had already bought an OEM leatherette rear seat cover for my E46 325i back in 2002. When I had an E90 sedan loaner I tried it out for size, and she fit. Decided to stay in the E46 family when the E90 came out in 2006 (got a 2006 E46 M3 Coupe) and bypassed the E90 Series altogether.

When I ordered the F30 was going to buy the one on this thread, but held off to see if my old one might even fit in the F30. If I were a gambling man, I'd say no. But damn she fits. You have to deal with the middle headrest (the one I have is designed for only 2 in back), but it tucks in underneath the middle one.

It's black leatherette and blends in well with the black leather seats. And most of all the sucker has held up for over 10 years, keeping the rear seats pristine on the 325i and M3 with my Samoyed and now Border Collie.

I have one of these in my garage actually. Used it once on a road trip and it worked really well. I've since sold the car, so if someone wants it for $150+shipping I'd be happy to part with it. It's OEM with the carry case.

Great info! I've had a couple different rear seat covers and they generally don't don't fit well as they are "universal." I'm definitely interested as my Vizslas have been banned from my F30 and only ride in my Audi (the dog car)

Hi guys. Based on this thread I ordered the seat cover and it works great. But I can't for the life of me figure out how to install the door covers. Any advice would be much appreciated!

LOL I have a "dog car" Audi A4 as well, its the GF's car and she gets to drive them around. Huskies shed so bad that even though they don't ride in my car their fur is still in the BMW from attaching to my clothes, etc.

Yes the door covers are a bit of a pita. I just use the metal tool provided to "encourage" the elastic band to wrap behind the door panel. Once I get it on, I don't take it off. Btw, I only use half the cover with one door cover.

I use a cheap "outward hound" hammock from amazon.com. It doesn't have the door protection but is one 0 less in price than the OEM product.

Also, I recommend making sure the dog harness is crash tested. I believe the "roadie" product is one of the only ones that crash tests.

A great price and is similar to the E46 OEM (except for the door protection). I was trying to get away from blocking the rear vents. Still can't get the F30 OEM one here.

Should have looked when I was in Germany last August.
