thats what i figured it makes a weird angle and thats the only way.

for the 435/335 its just a slide on clamp, so much easier

Diameter was the same on this one, but you couldnt make a straight connection since it created a very wide 170ish degree angle. With that angle it wouldnt allow a straight clamp to work.

I cut it off yesterday, once i noticed it I had to think about it to make sure the stock would go back on

Maybe there is slight variations between the models or there was other work done that I am not aware of

Idk man the stock 335 piping has always been larger, but only a little bit (5mm difference I think.)

Are you a BMW tech? That looks like classic bmw shop floor haha.

Whats the black on the end of the muffler pipe? Was it painted to prevent rust or something?

Might have been exhaust soot from a leak, or discoloration from the welding. Not 100% wasn't paint or rust prevention.
