Driving Roads
What are some good driving roads/routes up around here?
My personal favorite is anywhere around Bear Mountain and the FDR at 3am. |

LOL @ FDR (def not mine) nor west side anymore
I would have to say NJ has some better roads (much safer) for higher speeds

There's this great road called the belt parkway. Named that because you're likely to get belted in the rear end while traveling on it. Then there's the LIE. Which is just what it is, a lie that it's an actual roadway. It's a parking lot disguised as a highway.
Download the BMW Ultimate Drive app, and local users will tell you their favorite routes in your area. Chances are, you're gonna have to drive 30-60 miles to get there. |

Agreed on the last statement, most good roads are out of NYC. Even nearby suburbs that are within 10miles won't have as such great roads.

Closest to the city would be the southern state parkway going to LI and the Saw Mill Parkway going up to Westchester. Still, you are asking to get pulled over speeding anywhere around the 5 boros.

RT 218 between West Point and Cornwall is a great road with plenty of twisties that'll make you grin ear to ear. Taconic State Parkway too would be the best if it weren't for the troopers :/

Southern state Parkway after hours.
Gets really fun after exit 30. Meadowbrook State Pkwy S heading towards Jones beach /long beach is also a great drive. LIE as well.

Well, about to bring this back from the grave, but Hawks Nest road going up the Delaware river, just past Port Jervis.
