Although I understand those with top end BMW's doing it to prevent unwanted attention (interestingly, I saw a new focus RS today debadged, and a local has a new RS3 debadged, but as others have said in this thread, if you really Know your cars, then you don't need the badge, to know what it really is (both of the cars I mentioned there were easily recogniseable to me)).
Until the recent LCI, the same applied for the 3 series, but now that 2litre petrols and diesels have twin pipes, then I guess a lot of mid-range owners are a bit miffed :-)

My car has it's badges on, and while it may be a "slow 4 pot X-drive" in a few people's eyes, I don't really care, it satisfies my requirements, and at the end of the day, with all the (more important) options I have on the car, it was still worth £37k new, which I love, and most (average) people would be envious of, obviously not all the enthusiasts on this forum, but hey we're all different, have different circumstances, opinions, and to be honest I love this forum for information, and seeing what other people drive (I think it's daftasabrush who has the San Marino blue Touring, my favourite on here, simply stunning!!). Each to their own, and all that... Happy Motoring
