They have improved the front end getting rid of the olf headlights, tail lights are different but can see why they have done it! I say they have improved it

According to CAR they're saying that the M135i will be available to order as an xdrive. It was xdrive before on the continent in LHD but not here so interesting if that is accurate for the UK.

It will be the only RHD BMW with the 35i engine with xdrive so far.
If that's the case I'm minded to order one in March for sure!

The cost difference then is less, 2-3,000 depend on discount

Might as well get the 3
Not sure how you have worked your figures out but my 320d MS was £34.5k and my wife's 120d MS was a smidge under £28k.

Comparable models and a massive £6.5k difference like for like

So reading the BMW UK press release, there's no mention of a xDrive M135i. But the 120d xDrive gets Auto as standard (An option which wasn't even available before).

'However, the 120d xDrive all feature as standard the eight-speed Steptronic gearbox otherwise available as an option. '

Press release here - https://www.press.bmwgroup.com/unite...tem=node__4099

So no xDrive M135i?

That's why I said "if it's accurate" as the websites and journos have a long habit of regurgitating global press releases pretty much verbatim, without checking or verifying facts specific to the UK.

I have my doubts as the decision to produce an xdrive variant with that engine in the UK is probably the last bastion before BMW will have to give up on RWD meaning the ultimate driving machine.

Think the current 1 series is better looking than the lci. Like most new bmw's it will grow on you no doubt. Will just need to wait and see it in the flesh.

I'm a little surprised they didn't put the xdrive on the 125d instead of the 120d. As for the 135i xdrive - fuel isn't going to be this <comparatively> cheap for too long so i'll probably resist!

I have thought every 1 series to be pig ugly so far but this new one has a wow factor. Have to admit I now love the front and rear having really disliked both on previous models.

I like it, not sure it needed a 4min video but it's looking nice. I'll definitely be taking a look at the M135i if I can't hold out for an M2.

So in the 1 series LCI, LED headlights are standard on all M Sport Models. You can then upgrade to Active for and extra £1400 ish..

Apparently there might not even be a Xenon option!

I guess this will be the same on the the 3 series LCI as I can't believe they would have LED on the 1 series not the 3 series!?

I wonder if this is where all the sudden discounts have come from on the 4 series as they have Xenons as standard!?

No Xenon option as they are standard across the range it said, impressive. Looking like one of the best LCI's going this - a MUCH better looking car with a very high spec as standard and a range of more powerful and economical engines for what is likely only a very modest increase in price.

Never liked the first 1 series, the current one is ok though the some people don't like the front lights.

The lastest lci rear lights, bumper and lines leave a lot to be desired. Might look better in the flesh hopefully.

They just need to sort the 3 series now

I'm not going to fully bite, but what is it about the 3 series you don't like?

absolutely love this. 1 series is already a nice car, yes it has its cosmetic issues, what car is perfect? especially with everyones opinion being different, but to drive, its lovely, and i can only expect this to be better with the new engines etc.

I would be interested in the 125d costs etc, had one on a 63 plate for 5k miles until it was stolen, was brilliant to drive and took everyone by surprise when i did put my foot down.

I think it said LED running lights (ie corona rings) - a common marketing spin to make people think LEDs headlights are standard!
