iPod Touch 8.1.1 and NBT not working

I made the mistake of "upgrading" to iOS 8.1.1 on my iPod Touch and now I can't access any of its search functions on my '14 F32 with NBT. When I initially plug into the USB jack, I might be able to search and find an album or artist but when I play one song, I get locked into that song and lose the ability to search for new albums or artists. Is this something that requires an update to the NBT or is this an Apple issue? BTW, I upgraded to iOS 8.1.1 from iOS 7 so I never used any of the earlier builds of iOS 8.

Edit: This is not a problem specific to the iPod Touch, it also happens on my iPhone 6 when connected via Bluetooth or USB. Has anyone had any luck with iOS 8 and NBT?

Try seeing if your car has an update for the bluetooth software. Visit www.bmw.com/update for instructions.

Thanks for the tip. Mine has the latest update so hopefully BMW will do an update that adds functionality for iOS 8.

What version of MN/TN do you have installed? Also, in NBT click NAV then click OPTIONS and get your NBT_ firmware version.

I suggest you to try with another cable. Mine original get a little damage and at home with computer work perfect. In car connect/disconnect....changed cable and all is perfect!

I also recommend you first try a new cable. If that doesn't do it, dealer can upgrade your car. iDrive has gone through several firmware revisions since your car was built. Dealer can apply NBT_I which will also bring current your MN/TN.

I swapped cables and it still doesn't work. Looks like I'll have to wait for the next update.
