Yup, I ordered 1st of June and now looks like a Dec delivery though, to be fair, the order wasn't actually placed in the system until mid-Aug, to ensure MY14 spec.

Have since found out the build date was 13/9 and is currently on the Tiger expected to dock in Melbourne on 27th October, so I'm hoping for mid Nov delivery. Sure hope they screwed it together OK, given the SA strike. Steve |

SimonB that would be just you luck, hopefully all arrives safe and sound.
After some Jason Bourne work I have found my VIN and have seen today that it is booked for Boheme. Annoying it will be on the boat about 3km from my place and then head off north only to get trucked back down. Have to enjoy the irony During the effort to find mine I realised I might have ticked too many boxes If anyone wants to know what the 160 odd 328's made in the first weeks of this month are let me know So is this going be that thread for the followers? Seems there is one for every boat, everywhere in the world! |

How come? You're not in Melbourne? I suppose we're in the same boat (pun not intended) as anyone else who doesn't live in a coastal capital city.

Just got an email from the Sales Manager suggesting that it's possible that the boat could go back to SA via Perth and that could be the plan. We'll see, but I think it's off to Brisbane after Melbourne. Good service from my dealer though :-)

Wonder if they will put yours back on ANIARA which leaves MEL for FREO 17/11 arriving 21/11? Hope for you this is not the case as it would be later than the direct option!! Will be watching. |

Excellent work, thanks. I'd be happier if it went on the boat, rather than a truck, but someone suggested to me today that it may go in a container on the train. Both of those may be potentially quicker than waiting for ANIARA, but I'll just have to wait and see!

hey guys, I just asked my dealer about tinting and naturally they tried to sell me this package called platinum + plus which includes some HiGloss paint protection and leather, vinyl and carpet protection along with the tinting for about 2.2k.
I have never heard of this and I did ask if it's Opticoat but the dealer said it's not but it's similar...has anyone had any experiences with this package? Any thoughts on the quality and price? |

Tinting will cost you around $300 - $500 and Opticoat will be around $800. Simple mathematics if nothing else.
As a general rule thumb though, any of these extras the dealer tried to sell you aren't worth a pinch of you know what and they make extremely high margins on them. |

Yeah, i know they make a high margin, I guess I was interested to know how comparable is this HiGLoss paint protection to Opticoat in terms of quality. I don't mind paying a little bit more if it means I can go back to the same place for any problems instead of going to 5 different garages to get things done. But if what they are offering aren't good quality wise then I won't be doing it. |

Anecdotal evidence suggests Opticoat is the pick of the bunch mate. I can't speak from personal experience as I have never used any of these types of products. I keep a car for three years then get a new one.

Kagawa26, I'll be getting Opticoat done when I finally get delivery, including on the alloys. I've already lined up the applier here in Perth. I'm just not sure yet on whether I'm going to include the glass and leather treatments yet. Should start researching that, I guess! My research a few months ago agreed with HFW003's comments, overwhelming feeling seems to be that Opticoat is the ducks nuts,

I'm a first time user of Opticoat (had it applied to my car, and the wife's Mini) and I am now an avid supporter of this product. Not only does the car look fantastc, but it is a breeze to clean (especially those bloody 403 rims!). But can't help you with the leather and glass treatment, though (the leather in my car was treated at the dealership before I picked up the car).

Thanks SteveAus, committed to the Opticoat on the car and the wheels themselves
Because I have the Merino leather, I am a bit more cautious than I would be if it were the more common Dakota.

Opticoat is old technology. It can't be layered and it isn't exactly slick. Have a look at superiorshine.com.au Scott who owns that business is also a distributor for the product he uses ceramic pro. I won the NSW Concours as you all know. It's great stuff and he has people in almost every state well worth looking at
