Finally got a pickup date for my car! :)

Finally got confirmation for pickup of my F30! 4/26. Boy does that seem so far away. At least the miserable weather will be gone by then, so I can throw on my BBS RS-GTs right away. Just need some new tires.

Got word yesterday that mine will be ready for pickup next Wednesday, 2/27. Guess I'll be taking a day off work for that. Long wait, but worth it!

You're going from a 335 coupe to an F30 335 as well? Let me know what you think between the two as far as how different they are.

Mine too! My pickup is delayed for PC delivery in SC.
Initial impressions are that the F30 is a larger car legroom-wise front and rear, or at least, it feels that way. Sitting in the cockpit, you're aware of the shorter front doors (those on the E92 are pretty long) and of course, the dash and wheel are different - a little more "modern". I know there's going to be a performance deficit, but I'm thinking of adding an aftermarket intercooler and either a JB or Dinan S2 tune, as I'll already have the M-performance exhaust (installed at the port). Not going to go all-out on this one like with my E92. And I ordered the 8-speed auto with paddles instead of 6MT - another big adjustment.

Where the big difference will be is likely the ride and handling, as I ordered the Dynamic suspension with its multiple settings. Also, the tires are 45-series front and 40 in the rear, so higher sidewalls and probably a softer ride. My test drives in both 328 and 335 didn't reveal too much, as it was mostly on urban streets with just a few miles of freeway, but I can already tell it doesn't have that hunkered-down feel of my E92 - but it wasn't bad by any means. It'll be an adjustment, but I want the convenience of the 4 doors for visiting guests and such.

All that said, I'm anxious to get the keys and head out on the highway. Wasn't there a song about that? Something about "Born to be wild"?

I am also going from 6MT to 8AT. I didn't go with the DHP though. I'll probably do coil overs in the long run (whenever Bilstein finally makes something) so I figured it wasn't worth going with the extra cost on the DHP. How much is the ///M exhaust costing you? I wasn't given the option. For tune I'd love to do something... But will probably stay stock awhile. A big part of the reason I went for the F30 was to have a warranty.

I got that package that included the exhaust and the black grilles...I think it was $1300 all together, but maybe less. Will know soon.

I'm not too anxious to put anything on the car for the first few thousand miles, so it may be later this year before the intercooler goes in.

Forever! I put my order in in December, didn't get a build date til late January (the 30th) and my car has been sitting, waiting for a boat to bring it to USA for over a week and a half! This wait is killing me.

I ordered mine Dec. 15, and we were lucky enough to get an allocation that was already in line. It was for a 335i, so all the dealer had to do was change the colors and options. The car got built in January and headed out on a boat on Feb. 6. It is now either in the port or on its way to my dealer, and I am expecting to take delivery next Wednesday, Feb. 27. So in my case, from order date to delivery is roughly 9-10 weeks. From production date to delivery is probably closer to 6-7 weeks.

Just contacted my SA about the package, hopefully we can get something worked out. Would love an exhaust that sounds more like what came factory on my E92 sport.

The package gets installed at the port, and hopefully your SA can add that to the car before it arrives; otherwise, it'll take a couple hours at the dealership. Or...you might be able to just have them throw it in the trunk and do it yourself, although the price should include installation.

Talked to my SA today and he said it was too late to add port installed options. He did give me a good deal on the package installed at their dealer though. When my car goes through for final inspection after I pick it up in SC, I'll have everything installed.

Does it cost less to install at the port?

Can't really say, as I didn't price it that way. But - I know that if I'd purchased it through my dealer, I would be able to get a 20% discount on parts & labor, although I would have put the grilles in myself.

Completed build today! Just waiting to go to port, then sit around at the Performance Center until my pickup date. Too excited, late April can't come fast enough!

Hope, German build! It was the last slot available when I ordered. There wasn't any South Africa slots available, and if there were, I would have waited for a German slot. To me, it just wouldn't be the same if it wasn't built in the motherland.

Hm...I wish I am.

I'll be quite busy for the most part of this year...travel is really not an option, or I'd have done ED + PC.

Exactly what I was thinking and I wish my SA would have told me this...I probably would have gone somewhere else, and now the date he promised my car to be here by will be long gone...
