Actually I did everything you mention.

1) They just said flat fee. Wouldn't tell me what they got from BMWFS.

2) They said the most I could pay down was 33% of sale price, which was about $7k short of the 36 month total. Even with that, it saved VERY LITTLE MONEY ($700 over the 36 months...which I calculated was less than 1% - although they are charging much more for the lease).

I even had them run if I paid the ENTIRE amount upfront to pay down the lease, which they said BMWFS would not accept (above 33%). My monthly payments were still over $200 a month - or close to $8k, even though paying down to residual value upfront. At a $41k residual and over $200 a month, which means they are charging me well over 8% a year interest on the residual - while still taking the pay down up front.

Bottom line, none of it made any sense financially.

Thought i'd share this here:

May buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36-month lease of a 2013 335 Sedan with 15,000 miles per year are .00127 and 62% for consumers who qualify for its top credit tiers.

I just negotiated 2013 335xi coupe with prem, M, cold, and prem sound package, rear sun shade, 12k miles, navi, 18 inch rims the works. Gotta up to 65%residual, MF .00127, $750loyalty, $1500rebate, $1000 off msrp, and a few hundred of other credits.
My payment = $599 for 36 months $1000 total due at signing. Should be one of the last 3series coupe to be built in the world. Very excited.

P.s. Test drove the new 4 door 3 but didn't like the soft steering not a big fan of the interior change. You should be able to negotiate the 3 coupe down being that they will be discontinued
