Pretty sure that was a round of a different welder who they got rid of for that reason.

As you said though, the welds are still solid so no leaks.

Pretty welds come right down to who's welding that day.

With regards to overseas pipes, I'm not one to take risks or have my time wasted and 9/10 times it becomes a waste of time.

Roll the dice or go with a proven product like ER that fits.

I'm also a welding major in school so I understand. I also understand that when you are paying a premium price for a product that it should look the part as well. Just my two cents.

Post pics when you get it. I am interested in the quality of the parts and material.

Another one here with both FTP turbo to IC and IC to TB charge/boost pipes. Very happy with the fitment. I managed to get both for less than the ER charge pipe only so it was a no brainier for me.

i just installed a racechip and looking at a new chargepipe.

can someone confirm that the pipe must be n55, gearbox, drivetrain, and F series specific?

My VRSF CP just came in and it seems like a nice part. I'm not sure how much different it is compared to the ones being sold on eBay... honestly, it looks like the same part. Didn't come with any instructions or installation tips, just two pipes, a bag of tiny screws, two clamps and a silicon coupler with some Asian writing on it.

I'll try to put together a better install guide tomorrow.

+1 on the good find Joe...

and saving on this item is a must as it's not something that we should have to be doing given CPs are failing on stock cars. But as I'm new to BMW, you guys have likely already heard all the bitching you need to. There's always something that just doesn't work on a car/motorbike.

Besides port configuration, what could possibly 'not work' on a CP?

The plumbing and the fitment. If you have an xJive (xDrive) then the CP might be different to accommodate the front axle shafts. Along with the driveline components the transmission is also important as an auto CP will not fit a Manual car and vice Versa.

well CP and boost combo is $350, so not bad for both. I'm xDrive and MT, but you'd think fitment would already be sorted, no? I guess I need to get in touch with them and ask.

I was able to get the FTP charge pipe and boost pipe for $262 shipped. This was the main reason I chose to "take the risk" of buying a lesser known product. Upon arrival I was very happy with the quality of the pipes. I have had the charge pipe installed for about a month and am very satisfied with my decision.

If you are doing the install yourself it might be worth it, but if you are going to take it to a mechanic it is not.
Like I said I was just looking around. I am having someone install it. I would install it myself as a I like a challenge however my tools are limited and I'm not too sure my parents would enjoy me taking a part my graduation gift lmao
I relate to this 100% lol, my dad gets so mad when I put my car on ramps. So I work at a friends house
