Installed with Confidence.
The vehicle’s original BMW New Vehicle Limited Warranty is not affected by the installation of the M Performance Power Kit, and Kit components are covered under warranty for the duration of the original BMW New Vehicle Limited Warranty (4 Years / 50,000 miles) if purchased at the time of new vehicle sale, or for 2 Years / unlimited miles if installed later.

This worries me. It won't be the full warranty? What about those of us who haven't taken delivery yet?

Nothing to worry about. You won't get screwed on warranty, it will match your vehicle warranty OR if you add the PPK when you have an expired or nearly expired car warranty, you will still get at least 2 years of warranty on the PPK components.

From getBMWparts.com:
"The vehicle’s original BMW Limited Warranty is not affected. 4 Year / 50K miles when purchased with the new vehicle o 2 years / unlimited miles or the balance of the new vehicle warranty, whichever is greater."

There will be a video posted soon from BMW that shows a PPK equipped 335i F30 on the dyno (at Dinan) making more than the quoted power gains.

Ha! Kinda exciting. No more deleting codes and removing tunes for me.

lets not forget, the Stock f30 N55 produces 324 HP 327 Ft/lbs torque at crank (15% drive train loss)

Ppk brings it to 336 hp 377 torque at crank (15% Loss as above)

So the ppk is only adding like 12 HP but a good 50 ft lb at crank

Source

I wouldve totally considered PPK over something like JB4 Stage 2 if and only if it came with a larger intercooler or some other physical component.

I've personally seen this video but there where issues releasing it because Steve Dinan would have to sign a release statement. Not positive it's going to happen unless it leaks. The dyno shows a much larger gain than BMW states.

Video shows an E9x being tested...kind of doesn't make sense IMO. It's an "F30" tune...

F30 will have nearly identical numbers, possibly even slightly better due to the new airbox.

my SA is quoting $700 for labor

What quotes are you guys getting?

Also he mentioned something about an extra $100 for the intake gasket if it is not supplied with the kit.

At these prices I won't mind taking a 6 hour drive to some BMW dealer in SoCal if I can save a few hundreds.

Outrageous! The installation instructions quote 1.75hrs for pre Nov 2012 plus coding time. My SA quoted me .8hr for coding. Call it 2.5 hrs total....so for $700 your SA is trying to charge $280/hr! I bet it's actually only 1.5hr total actual work; I will work to negotiate it down to the same hourly rate I paid to have my exhaust installed. Don't drive to another dealer, just negotiate, the SAs have as much leeway to negotiate as the CAs.

Yeah, I was sticker shocked when I received the email from him. I was hoping somewhere in the $250- $350 range max.

I just sent him an email requesting to reconsider the number of hours they would really need for this. Btw the shop rates are $140 per hour.

Most dealers take CCA membership as discount too....so, can always try that.

Yeah, my dealer has been good/bad when it comes to following those install times...

Someone in another post mentioned that the SAs may be thinking of the E9x PPK install times, which included dropping the front bumper to install air ducts plus the extra radiator and fan included with that kit. This one will be a lot less labor-intensive without requiring removal of any body panels.

From what people keep posting. It looks like they state gains based on whp, not from the crank... I'm still confused.

My dealer is saying 362.50 plus tax here in NYC (395 bucks total). Is that above Average?

it was bout 150 less for me for install, came out to just under 200 plus tax.

.25 x 136.50, plus 125 "flat coding" fee.

Folks, wanted to share an update.... if you have a new car on order and are thinking about this kit, I'd strongly consider port install. My car was arriving at the port just before this was announced, so as soon as I heard about it here I called the dealer and asked for them to pull a few strings with a last-minute port install. We weren't sure if it was too late to catch it, but looks like they got it through for me. Installed price was WAY less than many here are getting quoted from their dealers. This won't help people that already have their cars, but if you are buying a new one it would be to your financial advantage to do a port install.
