IMO, the cruise stalk gets in the way and can be simplified by simple push button controls.
stalk was added to the e9X

my e46s had it on the steering wheel. I guess they thought stalk was an improvement =/

I also liked the window buttons in the center. That way the passenger could mess with the back windows and I wouldn't have to deal with it.

1. Cheaper deisel option in the US. 335d is great, but for that kind of money you can get a 5 series. I think this is part of what is holding diesel back in the US.
2. Softclose doors, auto boot lid
3. Wider kidney grill like on the new 5er and 6er.
4. More color options
5. 328i should get at least 30 mpg on the highway. Gas prices in California are astronomical.
6. ActiveHybrid
7. Clothtop on the convertible. The folding metal hardtops always look disproportionate.

I basically just want a new e46, but with the modern toys (Bluetooth, comfort access, turbo 4 with 35 mpg hwy). I'd buy that in a heartbeat.

While I'm dreaming, some way to get LSD without buying an M3, either as part of M-sport package or dealer-installed. A RWD sports sedan with more than 300 hp deserves it; traction control is a poor substitute. Also, it makes winter driving much more fun.

Clothtops look even more disproportionate... they just look horrible all together....

I'd personally like to see LED angel eyes come back in white, not yellow. Also, ventilated seats on at least the convertibles... I'm always sweating with the top down on very hot days... not a good look.

Also, having a screen standard to handle audio devices, radio station selection, bluetooth, etc. would be nice as well.

In no particular order:

1. Put this thing on a diet - less weight
2. NFC - key (cell phone key)
3. Pandora radio
4. Hard drive with wi-fi download while at home
5. Option for spare tire/non-runflats
6. Put the toolbox/flashlight back
7. Oil dipstick

5. Bring more diesels to N.A.
6. Bring back lighter/ashtray/lid. Deleting them for LCI was plain cheap
7. A2DP bluetooth support
8. Ceramic clearcoat
And if design issues can be addressed:

Thinner side skirts. I'd like to be able to get in and out of my car w/o dragging my calves on the side skirts.

COOLER CALIPERS IS A MUST!!!!! compared to AUDI and MERCEDES BENZ we are years behind, BMW is painting the calipers on some especial edition m3s red but I mean why dont they make our brakes with a better design "a la AMG" I just dont get it, of the 3 brands, bmw is the driver oriented one but although we BMW buyers are the ones who care most for this kind of things,BMW is the one brand that doesnt care for making an effort to at least be in the same level as the less driver oriented competition.
dont get me wrong, bmw brakes are good enough but their design belongs on a honda rather than cool cars like z4s and m3s. its a shame their best effort until now are those ugly bmw performance calipers when MERCEDES owners have those AMG CALIPERS

I need to add to my original statement:

Originally said: Ventilated seats!

Want to add: LSD or torque vectoring diff option for RWD variants. If I could get something like this from the factory it would save me from the pain and worse fuel economy of xdrive.

oh yeah, and a dipstick wouldn't be out of place either. Seems pretty easy to have both the dipstick and sensor in place for those who don't care about manually checking their oil level. If you have to choose one, it seems like the dipstick is the cheapest and most effective.

Better sound systems (oh yeah)

Options to get rid of the useless map holders in the door card and have some decent size speakers ala Jehnert type cards instead or addition to the 4 inch speakers better amps and speakers.

Plus the dipstick and no runflats plus spare
cloth interior option in US

1. Turn signal stalk with 3 positions, not just two

2. Oil dip stick (I'd pay extra for it)

3. Buttons for window, door lock, traction control, and hazards near gear shift (like the E36)

4. Traditional spare, sans run-flats (again, I'd pay extra for it)

5. Sport suspension without having to buy the fan-boy M Sport pack

2. Get rid of Run Flat Tires and add a spare in trunk
3. Google Maps and touch screen for navigation system
4. Increase hp and torque
5. Faster 0-60 (preferably 4.7 or less)
6. Keep the M sport package

- Make anti-theft standard
- Move the door lock/unlock to the door; it's really annoying and unintuitive
- Move the hazard lights under the shifter like my E39. A lot easier to use.
- Find a way to put impact strips back on. I'd prefer to not get my door repainted if it gets dinged hard
- For US models, make turn signals amber again like the cars in the rest of the world. It's more dangerous with red and it'll be easier logistically as it's standardized across the map
- Put back crap that was taken out for no reason, ie. cargo net hooks in the trunk
- Stop offering leatherette
- Allow the software to set the turn signal stalk "tap" to flash up to 5 times, instead of only the options of 1 or 3 now
- Have the CD player not spin when music isn't being played. I'm annoyed when I hear it spinning when either the entire system is off or I'm listening to radio on low volume
- Dipstick
- HUD option, please?

How about some performance options. Different rear end gear options. The rear end ratio in a 328xi is 3.91; my 335i was 3.46. I would love a 4.11 ratio, there's really no place in the US I know of where I can cruise at 140 mph legally.

Better paint quality on ALL BMW line makes.

Optional anthracite headliner w/o M Sport pkg.
