PDI or no?

Hi all,

My car is due at dealership next week. Does anyone know what they exactly do during PDI and should I tell them not do it? Do they wash and wax it? I don't want to risk swirling my BSM paint.

They wash it with sandpaper apparently

If I had it to do over again, I'd tell them to do NOTHING to the exterior except hose it off. Don't even bring a rag near it. Even leave the shipping plastic on.

Make sure they take out the shipping blocks from the suspension.

Don't sweat it. They won't hurt it.

Changing the software from german to north America (if you did a ED)

My car will be coming home from an ED so I am worried that it will have been cleaned in Germany after drop-off, which I am worried about. Anyway I am probably going to tell the dealership not to wash anything before I get it. I will take it to Fine Details and have it cleaned up for me on the first day home. I have seen swirl marks on the cars in the showroom at the dealership, so I do not have a lot of faith in their process.

Don't worry. Law of attraction. What you think about expands.

The PDI cannot be skipped, but the detail/wash can. When the car arrives at the delaership none of the accessories are activated and there are blocks in the suspension. Also, it is the last set of eyes that goes over the car before you pick it up.

YOU are responsible for cleaning the car before you drop it off at LOG IN OUT. Otherwise you'll get nicked for them to wash it (pretty pricey). I don't know if you're doing a winter pick-up, but if you are, I washed my car at the car wash across the street from Reifen Buechler after having my summer wheels/tires reinstalled.
