Heated seats not warm

Had the first cool day around here and turned on my heated seats and heated steering wheel on my 2015 328i with (cold weather package). I noted that the seats weren't as warm as they felt when I used them last winter and the steering wheel definitely did not warm up as much as I remember. The drive was about 40 minutes and I was not really satisfied with the warmth. Is this normal?

Something must be wrong; the highest setting burns the buns when I just ordered toasted!

Now according to the "coding" I had done over the weekend, the highest setting came up as 47 Degrees Celsius or 117 Degrees Fahrenheit.

Definitely not normal, unless you are wearing snow pants and 2 sets of thermals underneath.

Make that 3 of us that thinks there must be something wrong with your heaters. I run pretty cold but I can't keep my seats on level 3 for too long and my steering wheel is nice and warm.

Eco Pro mode reduces temperature, that might be why?

Good catch! I never use Eco Pro so I forgot all about that. Hopefully that's the OP's problem.

This is why I love this forum! I also forgot about this setting since disabling (or enabling?) it from day one. ECO PRO is great for bumper to bumper traffic but when my A/C cuts out for no reason when it's 90+ out, that feature is out the door and quickly! Heated seats would irk me too....how much does that REALLY save by reducing the seat temp? haha

Off topic but for those that might possibly use ECO PRO every now and then: stomp on the pedal and you will get power and lots of it instantly. This was my biggest peeve with ECO PRO since it accelerates like a semi but when you need it, the power is there. For some odd reason, I use SPORT or ECO PRO but never comfort.

Thank you everyone. The ECO pro tip is great, but I don't think that's the culprit. Still seems like they aren't getting warm enough. Oddly enough, the AC also hasn't been blowing cold. We were out this weekend and it was quite warm and had to blast MAX AC to get comfort. Looks like I'll need to take it in to get looked at.

Did you ever find a solution to this? The driver seat on my 2016 340i never feels warm enough on the highest setting. The car is in comfort mode so it's not the Eco Pro issue. The rear cabin vents also blow cold air when the front vents are set to warm.... But that's an issue for another thread.

FWIW, i can only use the lowest setting when it comes to heated seats. Anything higher makes the seat uncomfortably hot. Even at the lowest setting, i have to turn it off after 5 minutes or so, It just gets too hot.
I did notice that the steering wheel is not getting as warm as it would last winter.

This happened to me when I first bought my CPO F31. They had to replace the heating elements and one of the CPUs that control them. Seems the "detail" departments got a little excited when using the carpet machine and got things a bit wet. Have you spilled anything lately?

Also keep in mind energy management may be involved. Battery SoC could be on the lower side, (colder temperatures have an influence) and energy management is 'clocking' the high end consumers, like the seats.

You can code them be warmer at the different (3) levels and also see what they are currently set to with Bimmercode.

I thought you could only lower the settings with coding? I'd love to make the steering wheel warmer if possible but from my searching i cant find any results

With bimmercode you can also put the temp higher for the seats, not sure for the wheel
