No, not sad if you get it, just bummed he didn't. He was not in a hurry to get a car, so waiting another couple of weeks for his special order car would have been no big deal.

SamS, My car was a week 45 build, and I ordered it from the military sales here in Germany. It is currently in transit, but to the west coast, which will probably add a week or two to delivery compared to east coast guys. It will be in dock around the 12th, so I will probably get it in NorCal around the 15th of the month. If anyone has a shot at the new NAV, it might be my car since I ordered it here in Germany, but I am not holding my breath for sure....

I thought you really REALLY like your father-in-law.

Oh, and BTW the boat leaving 26th(WWL boat-Oberon) just docked at Bremerhaven. Hope we make that boat.

My car made the Nov 21st boat. Does anyone have a guess when it will be at my dealer? I am in New York

Depends on which 11/21 boat it is on. If the Turandot then the seconds week of December is my guess, if you got lucky and made the Tampa it would be the first week to expect it.

Supposed to pick up tomorrow... ended up going by the dealership today and noticed an EBII M-Sport outside so we stopped to take a look.

It annoys the hell out of me that an M-Sport 328i can be ordered with the same bumper and color (EBII) as the 335i. They really screwed the exclusivity pooch on that one.

aw there there.. I guess you'll just have to make do with your higher ponies, torque and better brakes. To think your 'non-true-M' 3-series will now have the same look as another non-true-M 3 series car

How long were you in "vehicle production is complete and is waiting to be released to the carrier" status? Mine just finished production in Munich a few days ago and now I can finally access the details on bmwvin.com!!!

Of course I know it's insignificant for us. But for the brand I think it's just a bad move. Maybe it is paying off though since they don't have to design M-Sport twice.. I feel the same way about putting M badges all over an non-M car... it's just weird. In the past these things were nothing short of forbidden for the brand. You had to get the 330i to get the ZHP package, etc.

Is anyone else having a tough time using the WW site to track their car via VIN?

I seem to remember having this same issue last year tracking my M3. I've tried using OS X Mt Lion (Chrome and Safari) and Windows 7 (IE8 and Chrome) and every time I put my VIN in Cargo ID, I get a secondary pop up window where I'm required to enter the VIN again. I do that, and nothing happens. Does that just mean there is no record of my VIN?

My car is definitely not on a boat, but don't you just fill in the Cargo ID field and hit "track" below? When I do this it says "no records found" above in red. I'm using firefox on Windows 7 if that helps...

Right, when I do that it pops up another tracker window (Enter Cargo ID) to enter the VIN. After I do that, nothing happens.

Ah, thank you!! My browser(s) don't seem to always render the Track and Clear buttons shown in your attachment. A few refreshes, and they show up. I too get No Results Found, so I guess my car is still waiting to be loaded.

Sam not necessarily as my car still doesn't show in there system but it is on the California Highway so I am not sure how accurate or up to date it is...

Best info will come from your dealer with regards to the ship it is on.

OK, good to know. I have a bit of patience on this part, as my PCD date is January 18th, so it doesn't really matter if it misses a ship, because it will certainly get their within the next 7 weeks.

DigitalMPower, our cars will never show up on that tracking site. The California Highway is not a WW ship, it is owned by K-line. That tracking site is only for WW ships. There is no tracking for cars on K-Line ships, you can only call the dealer to verify it is on a K-line ship. The upside of being on K-line is they make it over the Atlantic faster. I think there is a lot of confusion on here about the difference between WW ships and K-line ships

^^^ I knew it was a K-Line ship but I thought that was a division/owned by WW?

Not sure whether K-Line is part of W&W, but they do appear to have a cargo tracking option at www.kline.com. Does it not work? Neither the Kline site nor the W&W tracking site have my car in inventory. I've tried both the full VIN and the last 7 characters.

As of 11/25/12 (yesterday) the 1-800 # indicates my car is "in transit" and to please contact my delivery center. I've asked my CA what ship I'm on but have not heard from him just yet.

Anybody whose car is transit on the WWL ship, do you guys know how accurate the WWL tracking website is? How long does it take to update the info? Is it lagging behind quite a few days like the bmwusa website?

I used it last year to track my M3. It is pretty accurate, and will update throughout the day. For example, if your car is "released to carrier" status on 12/03, it should show that the same day, or within 24 hours. I'd say it's within 12-24 hours of real time, all the time.
