A piggyback tune and an exhaust(preferably MPE for resale value and less fuss about warranty coverage) will make the car plenty of fun to drive. My friend has the exact same setup on his 328 and his car is definitely more fun to drive than mine so I’m planning to do the same with my F36 428

Damn, the inline 6 crew really loves to flex on the 4 gang lol

Yup ... loving my F36 428i with bm3 and awe quad exhaust. You gotta do it man. The handling on the 4 cyclinder is alot better. We not winning any straight light battle here but we just love our car.

You can flash it but the four-cylinder motor is not as durable as the in-line six.

Little known secret too, if you add m colored racing stripes on the hood it'll add another 35hp

That’s easy, install a Ventura Tuning Box, plug & Play, You will get 310Hp and add a Sprintbooster and you will be driving a 440i 😁
If you also change exhaust will get you an extra 6Hp and a K&N air filter plus 4HP.
In the Venturatuning.pt , Portuguese store, that box is the same as mine: 750€
Sprintbooster same store 275€ , I suppose if you are in US you have cheaper.
K&N is from US, here is 80€, and exhaust depend on brand.

If you want fast, you're gonna need power. Maybe go catless, intake, intercooler, chargepipe and BM3? Depending on emissions and such where you live if you go catless. It's the easiest way to gain power. If you want fun, maybe an intake and BM3 Stage 1?

I'm new to modding BMW's so I'm learning as I go lol maybe someone else can chime in.

Wow just checked the link and this seems like a great option. Price is low and install is incredible simple.

Wait, I thought coding Sport mode to be default is impossible??? Any reference you could share?

Reviving this old thread as I just bought a 2018 430i. In the Sport Plus mode with traction control off it's a blast to drive. It definitely pulls more in the 3rd gear. I'm going to flash it with Bootmod3 once my warranty runs out in 3 months.

OP, what did you end up doing with modifications, if any, and your experience with it?

where in NJ are you buddy? Your car is pretty much identical to mine...color, F36,etc =)

I did the INJEN intake and JB4...the car feel really nice with this setup..yet its easily removable whenever you needed....
If you want BIG power you really should start with the 435/440 instead...

Englewood Cliffs. I just want to increase just enough HP and Torque, and get some nice wheels in the near future. Maybe Stage 2.

Any mods to the body?

The Dinan tune really wakes up the B46.

I looked around a lot before I bought my car.
First, I wanted a convertible. I was looking at the Camaro and Mustang. Living in New England, my brother said I must not want to drive it in the winter. I drove rear wheel drive as a teenager, no need to go back there.
Then someone said the soft top might get musty, be loud, or feel cold in the winter / hot in the summer. Hard top it is.
That didn't leave a lot of choices. Mercedes had a hard top AWD, and BMW did. I couldn't afford the Mercedes, so I ordered a BMW.
Test drove one before ordering. It was the 6 cylinder. It was nice, but 99% of what I was going for was the convertible. I have the top down anytime the roads are dry, including all winter.
Very happy I ordered the 440.

That looks sweet! I'm in the market for those 437M wheel set. Likely, I'll do the BootMod3 once the warranty runs out in October along with an intake mod. I'll eventually do similar mods as yours! I just ordered carbon fiber kidney grill.

Where did you get the spoiler?

BM3 has to be the best bang for buck going.

You don’t need a new intake, put it towards the charge pipe replacement.

I did the bm3 stage 1 and bms intake with occ on my ‘18 430 f33. Woke the car up but I removed the intake as my intake temps were higher and I wasn’t getting much in the oil catch can. Didn’t need a charge pipe for the b46 either.

Bms intake

Intake and occ. i did not like that I had to remove the brace.
