hey has anyone had their production status go from "awaiting a vessel" to "awaiting a production number"??? The website says production is complete but the 1-800 number says otherwise.

the system might have processed your information wrong. I had a buddy that went through the same thing and he tried it again afterwards by typing in the production # instead of saying it and it gave him the correct status.

there was a post that said the next ship bound to the west coast will arrive on the 22nd at Bremerhaven so your car might be shipped on that one. I believe it was the Toreador.

My wait is almost over. The webpage and phone number still say my car is awaiting transport at the port of exit but the Wallenius Wilhelmsen cargo tracker tells me that the car is on the PARSIFAL en-route to Baltimore, Voyage number CF406-PSF. Should arrive on 2/25.

I am hoping mine will be on there, since that is the only ship schedule I saw that was arriving at Tacoma, WA. Unfortunately, the date of arrival is March 22.

Ordered 12/21
Started Production 1/17
Production Completion 1/28
Arrived at Port 2/5
Left Port 2/7-2/8
Expected in CA 2/26
Expected at dealer early/mid march

I checked my shipping (kline) and the vessel just left the Panama Canal this am. BMW online & automated systems were fairly accurate until the vehicle was sent to port. After that, online shows "in transit" while the telephone automated system claims that it's not yet scheduled for production. This appears to be very common.

Least accurate: telephone automated system
More accurate: website
Most accurate: CA

That said - just get the ship name from your CA and you can track it once it gets assigned a ship.

I gather "en route to the US" means it has left the factory, but has not arrived at the port of exit?

It's likely on a boat by now crossing the Atlantic. You can contact your CA to be sure.

It actually arrived at Bremerhaven on the 20th and left on the 21st. You can track the ship by clicking on this link http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/det...hips/235068882

The best way to know if your car is on that ship is to call BMW 1-800- 831-1117, talk to a representative and give them your production # so that they can look it up if your car has left port and on which ship.

Ironically I just heard from my CA with the following "Just a quick update- your car is now in transit! It now has an ETA to our port of 3/24, and is aboard the good ship Sunlight Ace of Wallenius Wilhelmsen."

Sucks we are talking a month from now....

Is your car going to So Cal then gets shipped to you in CT? Looks like that ship is making a stop at NJ first.

Is there a way to track a ship? I've tried using www.marinetraffic.com/ais/ but that only seems to work when the boat is near the European coast.

Is there a site that will allow you to track shipments that are close to the US coastline?
