If he can't produce a vehicle inquiry report like mine showing the production number and status 112 (or later) he is talking some BS and you have no car ordered. You won't have a VIN until the car actually starts production, but you will always have a production number.

Let us know what you find out.

So finally I found out what is going on and just like you said. The dealer is scrambling to get allocation but it doesn't seen other dealers what to trade. Sucks for me. Now I'll probably wait a month just to get a car into production. I wish I had found more info on this so I can go to the dealer that had one and gotten an order there.

Any chance you can kill the deal? take your business elsewhere?

A word of caution though - 2015 production will be starting in... June? So Im guessing 2014 allocations are drying up?

Is it June? I mean we don't we know what the changes will be. Plus I kind of wanted to move away from my current car because I'm racking miles and don't want to lose too much value. Ahh decisions, decisions.

My CA said June or July I can't remember, when I was placing my order on 31 Match he was somewhat concerned about getting a German allocation. However that of course might have been BS to encourage me to go through with the deal.

Finally at the VDC now. Gonna check in with my CA this morning and try and see if he has any idea of what current delays look like.

How long does it usually take at port? My car has apparently been sitting there since last week and 3 ships headed to the states have come on gone. 800# hasnt changed, and theres no info on the WW website. I tried using both a partial(last 7, and 8) and full vin, and still nothing.

So, how long did most of you guys wait?

Took me a week at the port, and 2 days after the ship left I was able to track it on the w&w website.

Did you speak with a rep? Mine was at the port for a week according to the 800 number but I spoke with a rep and my car had been on a ship for 5 days before I found out

CA thinks I should plan on coming by next Thursday night to sign all the paperwork and pick her up.

We'll see what happens with any VDC delays.

Keep checking WW's website and doing a cargoID search with your VIN. Mine showed up on WW's site 2 days before BMW changed their status via the 1800 number. All in all my car sat at the port for almost 2 weeks.
