F31 328i M sport touring EBII - 55000 km/3.5yrs review and Audi A4 update

Finally my F31 328i m sport touring has landed Port Kembla yesterday afternoon.

Can any Sydney and central coast owners advise how long it will take until it is ready for delivery. BMW Sydney advised 2.5 weeks after landed, which I find a bit long as my car is custom built with no tinting or paint protection from dealer.

I also need advise on how to get their current 6.95% commercial chattel mortgage or prestige lease full circle rate down to 6.5 or lower. As I am not happy about their trade in offer on my accord euro luxury navi my10,if they offer me four year free service, I will accept the low trade-in offer.

Need some hard pushing before the final delivery. Please pm me on your experience.

KT,

Don't forget the car has to clear customs, which takes about a week. Then it has to get out on a truck and get up to the dealer then they do what they do.

Mine took two weeks.

As far as the finance goes, I got mine from Stratton (who use Macquarie Leasing) and the rate was 5.49 or thereabouts.

Good luck mate!

Keep me in the loop KT. My car should arrive off the ship in Melbourne on the 2nd August.
I was under the impression it took about 1 week after this for the delivery date. My stealer doesn't seem to be forthcoming with any information.

My dealer just called me the ETA will be 12/8, should be at BMW Mascot Preparation Centre on 9/8. (pity i might be inter-state that delivery week)

Finance: going with chattel mortgage 4yrs with Stratton, no deposit (take the money and spend on opticoat, insurance, etc), for the similar residual, i saved about $60 per month compared to 20000km equivalent BMW full circle chattel mortgage.

Insurance: will be expensive on NRMA Comprehensive Plus

Opticoat: enquired to Reflect Effect, Parramatta

Windows Tinting: somewhere in Alexandria (plenty of choices here). Question: do you opticoat first or windows tinting first in terms of protection wise?

My car is now on dry land. Have just spoken to the stealer about th expected delivery time. For Melbourne it appears customs can take from 2-7 days (they work 6 days/week - closed Sun) and the dealer will only take about 1-2 days including tinting.

So for Melbourne delivery could be from 3-10 days from when the car arrives off the ship.

i have asked Reflect Effect for the quote of the F31, but the stealer won't promise whether it can be delivered next weekend. So far i know it could be at the Mascot Preparation Centre next Friday. I don't do any tinting/protection from $3500 asking price by BMW Syd plus LCT and Duty, thanks very much.

So I can't get a booking confirm for reflect effect... hate that!

Dealer called this morning, my F31 will be delivered this Saturday! yay. Sad that I am interstate all week and will not have time to farewell my Honda Accord Euro :_(

Have been driven an Audi A6 upgrade by Europcar from Toyota Corolla in Tasmania since Saturday until this Wed. Love the quality of A6 Sportsline, very good cabin but the MMI placement is too awkward, not as ergonomic than the iDrive in 3 Series.

I think I will go for opticoat first then tinting. At the moment, need to sort out insurance and finance first. Hope I can get another rate cut on my finance after another 0.25% drop

Tyres and wheel insurance for $5 a week By BMW. I know I had scratched my Honda accord euro wheels and $1000 over 4 years seems to be a bit excessive?

went for GIO Platinum Insurance as I have my Accord under GIO Comprehensive and CTP, and is amazed how much the difference is compared to NRMA Comprehensive plus.

GIO Platinum: Sydney Inner West on street parking with multi-policy discount: $1600 for my agreed value of the car

NRMA Comprehensive Plus: $2600.

GIO Platinum has lifetime replacement, free windscreen cover, unlimited hire car, choice of repairer, similar to NRMA Comp. Plus (2 years replacement only)

Now i'm happy! Though I have to call GIO to do this insurance due to the annoying technical error to proceed forward and saved more over the phone

Choice of repairer is BS - If you read the PDS you will find that they can get their own repairer to quote on the repairs and choose them if they want to. (I have experienced this first hand.)

Having said that I also have GIO Platinum

I work on McEvoy St in Alexandria in Sydney, there is a big panel beater for GIO that does a lot of repair for cars and commercial buses/trucks. They are good craftmanship everytime i walk pass.

At least for some bizzard reasons, the same condition for the quote on GIO Platinum reduced from $3500 to 1750 then 1600 (all $800 excess) over the phone in my case, hey at the end, may be retention discount on top. I am happy.

Also got BMW prestige tyre and rim protection $5 a week for 3 years.

Now all the documents are ready and 2 more sleeps to go to see my baby F31 EBee2.

Going to dealer to check my car today before official delivery on Monday due to my rego transfer on my current car (mistake by me that forgot to take the customised number plate rego paper last time at dealer, and was away from Sydney all week, so have to deliver on Monday)

Will post some pictures this afternoon for the EBII touring.

Probably give me some time to officially farewell my trustable Accord Euro for 4 years.

F31 Navigation Professional NBT displaying Chinese Characters on Media Playback

Got the Navigation Professional (NBT) and connect iPhone 5 with USB, it can display the album art and Chinese Characters. However, on the extended cluster, they cannot be displayed in Chinese, just ?????? instead.

BTW, the song title in English means "will wait for your return", well i will wait for Monday to drive you away!

Side-by-Side F30 and F31 328i at BMW Sydney Delivery Room.

The F30 comes with lots of M Performance Parts: black grille, front lip, m sport brakes, 20" m performance wheels, carbon fibre mirror cap. The front lip seems to be just slotted in to the existing bumper? And didn't do a good clean afterward, I saw some dirty black marks, hopefully not scuff marks.

Just noticed that I don't have any advertising logos everywhere on my car: fuel consumption at the front and BMW Sydney at the rear. Excellent, that saved me peeling off in front of them on Monday!
